Chapter 7: A Different Snowlyx

~(y/n)'s POV~

I felt some cushions, and I'm guessing I'm resting on it. "Ugh..." I groan as I pull myself to a sitting position, my eyes still shut, my and stomach hurting slightly. What happened? There was an akuma... That's it! Cherisher, Deris, Dema, Ladybug, Cat Noir... it all comes back to me. I open my eyes and look around. My old room before I moved to the estate. Fun. Where is Snowlyx? I look around, and see that I am isolated here. Touching my neck, I found that my Miraculous wasn't there either. Grunting, I pull myself out of bed, realising I was wearing the clothes I had worn for school, and find a note by the side of my bed.

Marinette is here and is helping to give Snowlyx an upgrade. if you feel good enough, find me in the living room.

Well, at least I know Snow is safe. I wonder what kind of upgrade they are doing. Will Snowlyx further encase me? Or will she... I don't know, have powers of her own? I shake my head and stand up, walking unsteadily down the corridor to the living room. Dad was there, as he said, and Mari too. There was a small tub fit for a kwami in the centre of the room, and Mari was at a corner mixing some things up. Gramps was meditating in front the tub, and I assume Snow is in there. I go over to Mari, and hear her mumbling to herself. "Ugh, Hawk Moth has really gone too far this time..." I hum an agreement, and Mari turns around to greet me, asking if I'm fine. I nod, and tell her that other than feeling a little weak, I'm more or less fine. She sighs, then turns back to the pot she was mixing up. Curious, I stay by her side and watch her prepare a rather weird mixture: Some white fur, weird smelling cream, grass, purple liquid, mushy green substance... I was never big on all these weird potion making stuff, these were what Gramps would do. I walk away, and go to watch him. He had his eyes closed and was sitting cross-legged in front on the tub. His hands were on his knees. After a while, Marinette walks over with the pot. "Master, here's the mixture." She says. Gramps nods and asks Mari to pour in the gooey mixture. She does as told, and the murky white water in the tub takes on a dull blue colour. Gramps gets up and stands over the tub, chanting something I don't understand. The tub suddenly glows brightly, and I shield my eyes, hoping Gramps and Mari don't go blind. As soon as the brightness subsides, I open my eyes, and see that the water has turn ocean blue in colour, but it was translucent. The next thing I knew, Snowlyx rises out of the mixture slowly. Her eyes were shut, but other than that she looks exactly the same, so clearly the upgrade has nothing to do with appearance.

The moment Snow opens her eyes, she turns to me, shocked for some reason. She zooms right to me, and hugs my cheek. "(y/n)! You're awake! Thank god! I thought that howl would've knocked you out for even longer, or cause further damage!" Snowlyx really got worried... I hug her back, and try my best to comfort her. She calms down. "(y/n), let me explain why an upgrade was necessary. Back when you were out due to the howl, it made your magic retract or something along that line, yes?" Gramps asks. I hum in agreement, nodding. "After you were out and Dema took over, only some of your magic stayed. The rest vanished deep into you, and have been placed into slumber." I gasped. This was not good. "They will only awaken if you have a huge negative strike, but that will cause an explosion of power, and you will be out cold for some time. That could cause Hawk Moth and Deris to grow in power as the power is converted and blasted as dark, negative magic. Hence, we won't try to awaken those powers just yet, unless there is a need to." I sigh, realising why I felt so weak, and wonder what would happen next. How would Mom feel of all this?

"The only powers you're left with is telepathy, and of course, Dema. Hence, we've given Snowlyx an upgrade, so she now has powers on her own. I'll leave the explanation to Snowlyx. Marinette, you should go home and rest now." Mari nods, standing up from beside the tub. She then waves a goodbye to me, which I return. She smiles tiredly and leaves. Gramps gets up and goes to bed, telling me to use the training hall just in case anything goes wrong. Once we were there, Snowlyx begins filling me in.
