Chapter 13: Akumatized

~Nightlynx's POV~

It was early morning, and we were fighting an enhanced Troublemaker who literally made my blood boil in frustration. We soon managed to defeat her however, and had just brought Paris back to its normal state. Suddenly, Valister came in. 

You're the worst sister ever. You could've saved me. If you were brave, you would've stayed.

My head began spinning with Valister's comments, and I fell to the ground, groaning, holding my head. Ladybug was the first to notice this, and ran to my side. "Night! Night, are you okay?" Chat and Healine had heard Lady and turned their attention to me. They were soon surrounding me. "G-go away..." I whispered, loud enough for them to hear.

I WOULD'VE BEEN FINE IF YOU SAVED ME! BUT NO, INSTEAD YOU RAN IN FRIGHT!

"STOP! PLEASE!" I screamed, getting to my feet and dashing off. Everyone called after me, but I wasn't paying attention. I was only focused on running. Getting away. I didn't realise when an akuma flew into my lasso. "Pain Savior, you've been troubled and hurt. You wish you could save your sister, don't you? Well, bring me Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous, and you can get your sister back. Everyone will feel your pain, and you'll prove your worth. Deal?" Hawk Moth voiced. I was engulfed in pain, anger and disappointment, and I wasn't thinking. The next thing I knew, Pain Savior took control.

~Nathaniel/Healine's POV~

After Nightlynx ran off, we all tried to find her, but to no avail. Suddenly, I heard a loud cackle from the Eiffel Tower to see a familiar figure. I looked like Nightlynx, but her colours were inverted, and her tail and ears were gone. Her skin was dark red, and her eyes were traced with black tears. Her black lasso emitted a certain fog and was wrapped around her waist, flowing down behind her just like a tail. I looked around and saw Chat and Ladybug already heading towards her, and made my way there quickly. As soon as we got there, Night caught sight of us with her inverted eyes. "How nice of you heroes to come to me. Now, all I ask is for your Miraculous, simple. And I can get my sister back! I can prove myself worthy! You all will feel my pain!" her voice boomed and she began using her hands to blast black wisps. We managed to dodge them, leaving black burnt spots on the ground. "Nightlynx! Snap out of it!" Ladybug shouted.

"I'm not Nightlynx! I am Pain Savior! Just surren-" Pain Savior began, but stopped all of a sudden and began falling a few feet onto the Eiffel Tower ground. She landed on her knees and clutched her head. I turned to LB and Chat and gave them a brief nod. We then swiftly made it near Pain, keeping our distance. "What are you doing?!" Pain screamed. She looked up at us, and her eyes were of different colours, one is Pain's eyes, the other Night's usual eye colour. "S-stopping you from-" Night voice was back, but got cut off, both eyes turning back to her inverted form. Pain suddenly got to her feet, and attacked us. I dodged, and went to LB and Chat. I heard our Miraculous beep, and realised we all didn't have much time left. Nodding to each other, we went separate ways to detransform and feed our kwamis first. I went to an alley nearby, making sure I was out of sight. "Dawn time."

"Gosh, I hope you have some good chips or something with you." Horix grumbles, clearly preferring chips out of other salty food (salty much, Horix? XD) Lucky for us, i had packed a small bag of chips with me, and I quickly pulled it out from my pocket and opened it for him. He immediately jumped into eating, and was done soon. "Horix, night hunt!" I said, transforming again. I carefully made my way to the Eiffel Tower and saw Chat and LB there, hiding behind a pillar. LB had some rope in her hand, which I assume is the Lucky Charm, and she seemed to be wondering what to do with it. Suddenly, I saw a wisp come from behind them. "LB! Chat! Watch out!" I shout, and they managed to dodge it just in time, coming to the roof I was on. LB explained what we had to do. "Healine, you distract Pain Savior. I will get her tied with the rope, and Chat, you quickly use Cataclysm on her lasso." We all nod in agreement, and I broke off from the group to accomplish my part. "Hey Sadistic Savior! Over here!" I shout, jumping from roof to roof towards Pain Savior, mocking her. She turned to me and raged, immediately shooting a wisp from her fingers. But just then, Nightlynx gained half control, and the wisp flew to a wall and hit it instead. "I'm not letting you hurt my teammates!" Night shouted. Pain soon took control again, and shrieked, attacking me even faster and fiercer than before, the wisps occasionally going in other directions when Nightlynx takes control. Suddenly, Pain shot multiple at once. I managed to dodge it all, but didn't see one coming right for my heart. "No!" I heard Nightlynx shout. The wisp changed its direction ever so slightly, but ended up still hitting me, piercing through my chest. I gasped, and immediately collapsed on the rooftop I was on. "Healine!" LB and Chat shouted. Unknowingly, my transformation dropped, and Horix was trying to heal me, but clearly it wasn't working very well. "Nathaniel..?" the pair whispered.

~Nightlynx's POV~

As soon as I saw that Healine had a low chance of dodging that last wisp, I immediately fought for control. Just seconds before he was hit, I broke half free and shouted. I quickly tried to turn the wisp away. But it was too late. Healine gaped, and fell to the floor. "Healine!" Lady and Chat shouted, dashing to him. Suddenly, I saw bright green light, and Healine detransformed into... Nathaniel. I was enraged. Pain Savior shot Nathaniel. She shot him. I screamed, and somehow managed to take control long enough, ripping my lasso off me and in two. "Ladybug!" I shouted, and Lady turned to see the akuma in the air, attempting to escape again. She quickly caught it and released the butterfly. Black light covered me for a while, before I regained my strength and body. 

I turned to see Nathaniel, the memories of the fight coming back to me. I covered my mouth, and flew over to the dying hero, tears falling uncontrollably. I landed beside him, Cat and Lady giving me space. "N-Nathaniel..." I whispered. He was still awake, but it was clear that he was terribly exhausted. "N-Night..?" He mumbled, blood dripping out of his mouth. I broke down, and hugged him, resting him on my hands. "S-Snowlyx, s-silence." I stuttered, dropping my transformation, pulling myself up to look into Nath's eyes. I heard a gasp, and Nath's eyes widen. "S-so it w-was you a-all along, huh..." He mumbled, then smiled lightly. "I-I l-love you, (y/n)..." I blushed at his words, and began crying again. I pulled him into a hug again. "I love you too, silly." I whispered. I felt hands on my back, pulling me closer to Nath, after a while he let go. I stared into his eyes for the last time. "I-I'm sorry..." he mumbled, before shutting his eyes, his body falling in my arms. 

I cried and cried. I didn't even care when Lady picked me up and brought me to Gramps' place. I didn't stop even when Gramps held me in his hands. "He's gone, all because of me... I..." I spat, tears flowing down faster than before. "Shh... you did your best, (y/n). You did your best, and I'm sure Nathaniel appreciates it." Gramps whispered soothingly. It helped calm me down a bit, "But if I was stronger, I wouldn't have gotten akumatized in the first place..." I rambled on, until Gramps pulled out of the hug, and stared into my eyes. "(y/n), it's not your fault. Would Nathaniel want to see you this way? All you can do now, is move on. And thank him for the time he spent with you, making your life better." Gramps said. I sighed, my tears finally stopping. I closed my eyes, catching my breath. Soon, I felt my determination returning. I opened my eyes and looked at Gramps in the eye. "I will end Hawk Moth. I will avenge him." I said, smiling. Gramps smiled back, and ruffled my hair. "Now, that's my kid." He said. I laughed along with him, and left to head back to my dorm. My lonely dorm... There were plenty of gifts that must have got here while I was at Gramps' place. Word spread fast, huh. I lay on my bed, thinking back. It's surprising how a turn of events can go by that quickly in just 5 hours.

I sigh, and got down, turning my attention to my computer. I turned it on, and found an off-day notification for everyone today, in thanks for Healine, Nathaniel. I smiled sadly at the poster someone created, the background bright green. On it, Nathaniel and Healine stood, back to back. They both looked to the sides, a small smile on their face. Below it, there wrote: Thank you, Healine! Sighing, I turned back to the main point, finding Hawk Moth. I sure wasn't expecting a sudden message.

Hawk Moth...

That was... Rue?

Yes, I managed to get a hold for a few seconds. 

I sighed in relief, at least Rue was still there, inside.

Hawk Moth... is Gabriel Agreste.

Rue said, and she was immediately cut off, silence filling the room and my head.

Oop- Nathaniel came and left in around 10 chapters, Healine around 2 chapters- Sorry didn't originally want this to be a love series so...
