Chapter 19: Welcome Back

~Katniss' POV~

At lunch, I was adjusting and decided to let Dema rest. Prim and I sat with the Agrestes, Nino and Alya. We were eating and talking, when... Nathaniel walked to us. He saw Mari and blushed, "H-hey Marinette. C-can I sit h-here?" He stutters out. Taking my body back was a bad idea. I turned to Prim, who was beside me and stared blankly at her. She understood and nodded, turning to the group, "Oh right! I need Katniss to come with me. We gotta go see what books we need!"

Prim gets up, pulling me up and along with her. We ran in the direction of the office, heading to the toilet instead. As soon as we stepped in, I broke out in tears. Prim pulled me into a hug, drawing circles on my back and whispering soothing comfort words to me. "I-I can't do this. Why... Why does he have to be around? Why did I have to kill him? Why did I get myself akumatized? Why..." I rambled, unable to stop. Prim placed a finger on my lips, shushing me. "Katniss Everdeen, it's not your fault. Everyone makes mistakes. Crying and being mad at yourself over it isn't going to change anything. Instead, try forgiving yourself, and finding new ways to settle an issue. You're my strong sister, and always will be. Don't let others take your happiness away. You got it?" Prim said firmly, staring into my eyes. Her red orbs reflected a girl who on the outside, lost it all. But on the inside, she was strong and determined, it was all hidden away and never found.

I nodded, smiling at her. After washing up, we went back to the group. "Hey, did you get your books?" Marinette asked. Prim shook her head, "Nope, they said it will come after school." We sat back down and ate, Alya talking on and on about Chat Noir and Wolf Angel, the rest of us occasionally joining in. The bell rings, signalling the end of lunch break. We all got up, heading to our next classes. Alya, Nino and Nathaniel had Chemistry lesson, while the four of us had Poetry. We head off to class.

{Time skip to end of school}

Prim and I were sitting in her room, discussing our next step with Snowlyx and Plagg. "I can try to get the Ladybug Miraculous back?" Snowlyx suggested. Prim nodded, "I guess you can give it a try. He can't do anything without both, and it's not you he wants." The plan was decided. Snowlyx would go get the Ladybug Miraculous, and pass it to Marinette. As for Plagg and I, we will go as Chat Noir to Adrien's room and give him the Miraculous 'to test it out since he was such a big fan'. If it all works, we would have both Ladybug and Cat Noir back.

I waited until it was midnight, before going back to Prim's room. She was wide awake, and nodded at me. I smiled, "Plagg, claws outs!" I transformed and exited the house, Snowlyx hidden in my hair. I made my way to Adrien's window, knocking. He was still awake, doing work, and turned, shock written on his face when his eyes settled on me. Then he narrowed his eyes at me like he remembered me from somewhere, which I'm not surprised. I smile, then knock at the window, hoping that he would open the window for me. Adrien snaps out of his trance, and quickly open the window for me, excitement and worry written on his face.

"Don't worry, I'm not here to rob or hurt you or anything." I said, trying to calm him down, which seemed to work a little. His room was dim, but I could see that his shoulders relaxed, and he smiles, a tint of pink on his face that only my cat eyes could've picked out. I smirked, "Oh, is the pawmous model Adrien Agreste clawing for this black kitty?" Ah, feels a lot like Chat huh. Adrien flushes, looking down, "W-what brought y-you here, C-Chat Noir?" He stutters. I giggle, "It's nice to see you falling for me, but I'm not the one you love, Adri." I mutter, loud enough for him to hear. Adrien had a face of confusion, "Huh?"

I sigh, "Plagg, claws in." I detransform. There was bright green light as I detransformed, but I knew Adrien can't see who I am. I pull the ring off my hand slowly, slipping it onto his finger. "W-what..." Adrien mumbled, gasping. I can only assume his memories were coming back to him. After some silence, Adrien mumbles, "Plagg? (y/n)?" I sighed in relief. "Yep, it's me. You still have the memories of this world, don't you?" Adrien hums in agreement. "Okay, I can't see you. Let's go over to your desk." I said walking towards that dim light. As soon as we neared it, Adrien looks at me, shock written over his face, "Who are you? Where is (y/n)?" I put my hands in front of me defensively, "Woah woah, it's (y/n) (l/n) alright. My sister Prim is free from Hawk Moth and she did our disguises. In conclusion, Katniss Everdeen and (y/n) (l/n) are the same person. If you want evidence, I can show you." I rushed out.

Adrien's serious face softens a little, I knew he didn't believe me fully. I sigh, and grabbed his hand, pulling the ring off and putting it on my finger swiftly before he reacted. "Hey!" "Plagg, claws out!" I transform, my hair and eyes changing along with my attire. Adrien gasped, and I looked at him, "Believe me now?" He nods, and I detransform, returning him the ring. "Now that I remember, it's so weird to have Marinette as my sister..." Adrien mumbled. "I get it. It's tough seeing Nathaniel like Marinette. That's why i didn't come alone." I said, cupping Snowlyx out of my hair. Snowlyx greets Adrien, and informs him of our plan. Adrien nods, wanting to join in. Which helps a ton. I twisted the original plan a little, making it easier for all of us. After discussion, the plan was settled and commenced.

~No one's POV~

Snowlyx exits the room, checking for anybody. Seeing no one, she swiftly but quietly makes her way to the painting, hoping the Ladybug Miraculous would be there, which turned out in her favour. She quickly grabs the earrings and dash back to the room as silently as she could. When she got back, Adrien takes the earrings from her. Marinette had a habit of sleeping terribly late to design and complete work. He heads out of his room, going to Marinette's. It was normal for him to do this, since he would go and ask Mari to go to bed, which she barely listens. He knocked as silently as he could on her door, loud enough for Marinette to hear. "Come in." the said girl says. Adrien opens the door, and walk over to Marinette, who was sitting at her desk. "Hey Mari, work or designing this time?" Adrien ask, being as casual as he could, which was terribly difficult for him, since he now remembers her to be his love. Marinette knew there was something wrong, and she turns away from her work, facing a dull-eyed Adrien. "Brother, are you alright?" She whispers, worried for her beloved 'brother'. Adrien snaps back to reality and smiled at her, "Yeah, I just wanted to give you these. Put it on." Marinette could tell something was bugging him, but she knew that it has to mean a lot to him for him to be able to smile happily when he was not alright. Sighing, she grabbed the pair of earrings from his outstretched hands and looked ta it under the light. There were ladybug spots on the earring, causing the girl to feel a little nostalgic. Shaking it off, she put on the earrings, and everything flashed past her. "M-Marinette..?" Adrien mumbles after awhile of silence. Marinette was already at tears, "A-Adrien..." She cried in joy, hugging him. He was shocked, but hugged back tightly. They soon broke the hug, and kissed. The kiss sparked joy and peace in both their hearts, but they knew the fight wasn't over. They never wanted this moment to end. Soon, they broke away for air. "Y-you remember?" Adrien asked. Marinette hums an agreement, smiling widely. "Great, we have someone waiting for us in my room." Adrien says, causing Marinette to lift an eyebrow. Without answering her silent question, Adrien happily grabs her wrist, pulling her after him to his room.
