      Chapter 3 |The man that stands|

"Loving you from a
distance isn't enough''

By the end of my explanation, I was about to rip my hair out of my head. Everything happened excruciatingly slow. And I was going to kill the lot of them.

"If you agree with him once more, Daminion I was slit your throat in you're fucking sleep and you'' I pointed to Aariq.

" I'll enjoy feeding you to Dycareys.'' he pouted, grumbling that I have already made that threat earlier. After shooting him a glare. I sighed rubbing my temples needing a second from the man who thinks he's the queen.

'' get out, I'll see you in the morning.'' Aariq huffed but nonetheless followed my order. Muttering about needing to make a name Tag because he isn't a servant. I rolled my eyes. Looking over at Daminion,

"Honestly I'm still contemplating if you should stay. i.'' before I could say anything else he got up from my bed and wrapped his large arms around me, I sighed in content.

"What am I to do with you, you big fool?''

He pretended to ponder in thought.

"Anything you want, I am all yours, my queen.'' I felt warmth overcoming my cheeks. I do love the sound of that but as much as I wanted him to stay and distract the overwhelming thoughts that pried its way into my mind, I needed him to go. I declined his offer for another time and walked him to the door of my rooms. Before I closed it Daminion took me into his arms and like always he said the right words in the perfect moment.

"I believe in you, Adya. I stand by you and I will fight until my very last breath and even then I'll fight with you, for you in sprite. All the gods in the heavens wouldn't be able to keep me away from you, I've loved you since we were sixteen playing in the meadow." I know these words to reign true. I knew these words came from his heart. Getting on my tiptoes, I kissed him softly. After all these years with him, a ghost of a kiss still lingered upon my lips as if it were the first.

"I know you do you big ofe'' he kissed my forehead goodnight and I closed my door finally, completely alone with my thoughts. I could feel sleep taking over my eyes but I needed to come up with a solid plan. Yes, I have the spying part down but what else. What more could I do if that fails? His father has no recollection of what I look like. But then again nobody in the realms past the Calcua sea does. Smiling sleepily, I started to conjure up something good.

You have power

You're powerful and I can teach you. All you have to do is wake up Adya.

All you have to do is wake up Adya...

Adya...

Wake up.

Wake up, Adya

WAKE UP.

The voice of a man yelled. The authority and power in the man's voice could be felt deep in the burrows of my bones. I could see my sleeping figure faced up and a man hovering over the sleeping Verizon of my unconscious body. He laid a soft kiss on my check whispering ever so slightly "I'll see you soon my love. Soon we'll be together as was promised"

The man, curly strands dark as the chilling night sky turned with analyzing and startling grey eyes glazing the room. Looking towards me it appears he was looking past me. Still scanning the room His thick brows furrowed in confusion. Does he not see me? I didn't dare say a single word in case if what I thought was true. His face was beautiful but his features appeared static as if no one shall know the beauty it truly held behind the coolness of a mask he wore. Soon he was gone from my sight as if he were never there. I felt something pull me back back back and I too was gone.

I felt a gasp wanting to make its way through my body. My breathing, completely erratic. My lips remained shut as if it were involuntary. My heart sped up, as I tried to get my limbs to move, to wake up from this dreadful sleep. alas, nothing worked.

I saw movement in the corner of my room. I squinted my eyes, bloody hell I must be seeing things. Something, someone was definitely here. I had no defense and nothing wanted to fucking move. I could feel my breathing pick up, my chest heaving up and down. A silhouette of a man I presume who stood with his back towards me. I squeezed my eyes shut willing him to leave. To go back where he came from.

When I finished counting to ten I slowly opened one eye than two. The figure was gone from where he stood. I let out a breath but then I felt a hand crease my cheek, looking over to the side that was lit by the moonlight from where my window was a man. His features are rough but soft. Longing could be seen in his hooded eyes when I blinked again he was gone and so was the force that kept every muscle in my body bound. I touched my cheek, still feeling his hand, it still lingered. The man that stood was gone in a flash and I couldn't help but keep my fingers where they were. Stuck in a daze, completely dumbfounded at what just happened.

I didn't, couldn't sleep that night.
