V. you are dust to me

"A child, Lady Lesso, a child! Not just any child, but yours! Your flesh and blood! How could you do this?" Clarissa wept, voice filled with sadness and anger.

Lady Lesso's heart twinged.

No...

That wasn't right.

Evil felt no emotion.

They did not succumb to the practices of Good.

Wiping her violet eyes and voiding herself of feelings, she said in a steely tone, "Evil has no attachments. We dedicate ourselves to bringing Good down, and you should be on your guard too, Clarissa."

Brushing non existent dust off her gown, she walked out.

You are dust to me, Clarissa.

She could not let herself break down. Not now.

Dust.

VI. need you

She was right, Clarissa realized.

Good with Good, Evil with Evil.

That was the main rule.

If it was broken, what did they have left to fight for?

Evil couldn't love, they said.

But they could.

She could.

A voice inside Dovey scorned, Fool, do you really think she would love you back? An Evil soul, whose first name isn't even known?

But Good believed.

Like the missing part of her soul, the whispers of the wind, Clarissa Dovey knew that Lady Lesso was meant to be her true Love.

She didn't need a prince for her Ever After. Why should she, when she could have a Lady? Fiercer, stronger, and braver than those arrogant prats.

Lady Lesso had broken down in front of her.

But that was what made her strong, wasn't it?

To have the courage to come out, the strength to confess that much.

With a dawning realization, Clarissa realized...

...maybe Lady Lesso wasn't Evil after all. (She is, but irrelevant)

And she cared, so much that her heart would break without Lady Lesso.

She walked back to the School in silence.

And then she let herself break down like her friend had done, crying silent tears to a true love who wasn't there.

I need you.
