"One Americano for Tres." Thirdy stood up to get his order.
He just went from a hangout with his high school barkada and of course, alcohol included. He decided to leave early because he has something to do at noon the next day. Because he was drunk, his friend, Mike, offered to drive him home but he politely declined, telling him to just enjoy the night. Mike didn't listen to him and hopped inside the car. He can't do nothing since his friend's already inside. Since he wants Mike to go back earlier, he told him to just drive him to the nearest coffee shop. After he finished a cup of coffee, he drove away jamming to low-volumed classical music to keep him awake.
Realizing he wanted to witness the city lights, he made his way to Antipolo, not minding the time. When he got there, he sat on a bench and just enjoyed the serenity the city lights bring. It always makes him feel alive and calm at the same time.
There was a strange sound he was hearing. It wasn't far from him. He listened to whoever that person is and followed where that voice is coming from. He found out that it was a girl. Surprisingly, the body built is way too familiar to him, also her voice. When he heard her stop, he went closer to her and hugged her. Of course he won't do it if he doesn't know the person.
Isabel.
Even though pushed, he didn't go away. He wondered what she was doing here. When Bea knew her, he didn't say anything. Instead, he hugged her again. They stayed like that for a while. He actually convinced her to go home with him but knowing Bea, she'll not approve. Of course, she'll have her reasons. Her never-ending reasons. Just kidding. I respect her.
It took him a lot of convincing for Isabel to approve. Firstly, Isa doesn't want to be a bother - an obligation. She knows she can handle herself and she doesn't need someone to help her. Secondly, she's in a worse state. It sucks for someone to see her in a messy bun, wet-collared shirt, worn-out eyes and red face. Thirdly, even though he wouldn't tell her, she knows that there is a reason why he's there.
For sure he won't go there just because he wants to, right? Or not. She's not sure. Lastly, what if his family's home? What would they think of me? His girlfriend? Ugh, what are you thinking, Bea?
Seeing her in that state, it goes without saying that he doesn't want Bea to drive alone. Add the fact that he saw two empty bottles near her which makes her smell like alcohol. Letting her drive all the way to her condo will be very dangerous for her so he gathered himself up and asked her to go with him to his home. With Bea's reasons, she didn't approve of his suggestion.
Thirdy knew of her decision so he explained why he needs her to come with him.
"Driving all the way to Manila is unsafe for you. Did you even smell yourself? You smell like alcohol. Plus, look at you. Your whole body and heart screams rest na. For sure you'll get stuck sa traffic, baka makatulog ka pa. Do you think I'll allow you too? I'd rather accompany you here kahit for the rest of the night pa than to let you." He explained and picked the empty bottles and her phone.
"I've had enough." She whispered. He looked at Isabel and saw her admiring the view. As if her tears were immense, they started forming in her eyes once again. The bright lights made him see and feel her emotions. He wondered what happened and how hard it maybe is for her to cope up with it.
To let her feel that he was with her, he hugged her from the back. Bea got stiff for a second but relaxed after. He tightened the hug when he felt her skin cold. She turned around to completely feel his warmth.
He leaned in to her ears. "Please," he whispered.
"What about my car?" She said with her now husky voice.
