Dork Diaries:Brandon's POV

October 24

Today's the day! Today IS the day! Jessica and MacKenzie will finally be out of our hair FOREVER! Nikki's cousin will be coming to town in what I hope is to be a helicopter... Anyways, our plan:

Jessica was flirting with me like a desperate-looking, stray puppy! I'm not even that great. What does she see in me (Completely Kidding!)? I was just getting books out of my locker for my next class, and there she is, hiding somehow inconspicuously behind my locker door. It was SO hard not to scream like a little girl.

"Gosh, Jessica, what is it now?" I asked annoyed.

"I just want you to know that I'm totally available if Nikki ever gets arrested. My daddy IS the chief of police. Just putting that out there for your information, Brandon," Jessica said, flirtatiously twirling some of her hair. Oh thanks, Jessica, for stating the obvious.

"Well, I just want you to know that Nikki has a cousin in the CIA and FBI, so I wouldn't speak so soon." BAM!! That was the signal. Melissa walked into the school and was supposed to arrest Jessica (not for realsies).

Yes, you heard me right; SUPPOSED to. That's when she spoke into a black watch saying, "Come on down, boys!" What!?

A load of SWAT agents came sliding down ropes from helicopters outside. Most of them were surrounding the perimeter of the campus, and Melissa was still standing in front of us. There were two SWATs by her side just in case though.

Nikki was kind of hiding behind a corner the entire time; she was by me before the "raid" started. I leaned to whisper in her ear,"What are all these people doing here? I thought we agreed only Melissa was showing up!"

She replied,"Yeah, she owed me a large solid. Do you now see why I was questioning the entire plan?"

The Claritin jingle was swirling around my mind *I can see clearly now! The rain is gone!*' I can DEFINITELY see clearly why Nikki didn't want to take the risk of getting her cousin fired. The SWAT people might have other incredibly important business to take care of, like trying to create world peace, and they're all here surrounding a girl who bullied someone just because she couldn't have her dream guy..... And how big of a favor did Nikki do for her cousin!? This is ridiculous!

"Nikki, these people need to get out of here!" I whispered again.

"They can't leave until their job is done, even if it takes forever.... They won't leave either. This was all kind of part of the deal. Sorry, Brandon."

"Jessica, you are under arrest for physical assault towards Nikki Maxwell and Brandon Roberts. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and WILL be used against you in the federal court of law," said Nikki's cousin.

Jessica seemed pretty shocked, which is the expression I would have enjoyed if I weren't thinking so much about the jobs of these people at stake. Then something else hit me hard in the noggin: THIS WAS ALL A JOKE! All of these people are here performing a PRANK for a stupid reason, and now they can REALLY lose their jobs!

Holy stuffing, what am I supposed to do now!?
