Our Battle

Shu's P.OV

"Halt. I know her. But who are you?"

my gaze was focused on Valt. Valt looked away, a little hurt.

"I'm Valt, and my partner is Valtryek."

Your P.O.V

He seems to understand Shu's current situation, since he didn't run up talking excitedly. 

"I see you've finally decided to find a puny ally," Theodore taunts. 

"Shut up!" Trying to stand up for friends don't count as easy.

"That's not a way to speak to Ashtem!" Silver eye shouts below. I'm going to lose my voice at this rate. 

Valt is now glowing in both is aura and iris. He had such a determination. Shu grunts, holding back words. I wonder if he still remembers...

"First Battle! Ready, set!"

"Let it, Rip!"

Spryzen has already gone on the offensive. Shu crosses his two fingers and sliced through the air as if there were an actual rod. "Requiem whip!" Valtryek immediately flies out of the stadium. He can't afford to make any mistakes now, and he shouldn't let his guard down. 

"How pathetic. Too scared to go up against her lover."

Silver eye needs to stop his unfriendly teasing. 

"Stop!" The words tumble out of my mouth before I could stop myself. It was already enough to set him off. A bottomless pit opens before me. I fall and let out a short, weak scream, expecting a thud in the next few seconds. I havn't felt a falling sensation either, where you feel air rushing ahead and let your body be. 

Nothing happens. This must be one heck of a deep pit. It was only seconds after to realize- Shu had a ahold of me, silent. His soft hands gripped on my arm was something that I figured my brain couldn't process. 

Now, just in time to hear an argument up there. 

"Do not proceed without my permission."

"But she's so annoying!" 

"Deal with it."

And even though I know he can't see it, I smile. The Second battle had started long before I noticed. The intensity of yelling was so insane it had hyped me up into doing so. Even out in the open forest, I feel choked. The power the two beys contained resulted in so much power Shu and Valt braced the wind and surge of sudden energy. When the fog has cleared, It ended up in a draw. 

Finally set off, I decided to join them. The battle belonged to Valt, so I held back in bringing out my own bey. Several simultaneous burst finishes has gone by, yet so swift in time again. Many thoughts and memories raced across my mind, dancing back and forth.

Flashes occur before me. The precious times that me and Shu have spent together. We were the closest since birth. Valt can't really count, because they met in Kindergaten. I loved Shu with every part of life I own. Lit up, eyes open, I whisper the first thing that appears in my mind. 

" I love you Shu. Come back to me."

Spryzen had burst in that split second. Of course, Valtryek then stopped spinning. It'd be a miracle if Valtryek was still at full power. Shu lets out a howl of defeat as the two opponents fall backwards. Exhausted. I run over to Shu. His mask wasn't on.

Pushing aside his hair, I spoke gently above his face.

"Tell me you're okay."

Theodore finally spoke. "Very well. I keep to my word. He's yours now."

Something tells me he's very regretted his decision. And those were the last words I had heard from him.
