Chapter Nine

Camila pov

When Lauren finally arrived to the hospital, she was way more touchy then usual. She was holding my hand more often, she was closer to my bed and she wouldn't leave my side. Although it felt nice, it was a bit odd coming from her, since she was more reserved in that aspect. Since she probably already knew of my crush on her since Dinah basically told her, I would have assumed she would have pulled away or be less touchy with me. Instead, she's more affectionate towards me, I took it as a sign that she needed comfort since of course, she just went through a breakup and I just wanted to be there for her.

Thinking of Lucy, I have always felt jealous of her since she was able to have what I wanted most. Since I remember, I have always had a crush on her since we were small. The fact that she would always defend me and protect me from anyone. She would help me if I needed any help without any hesistance. The way her eyes lit up when she sees a dog on the street or gets something she wants. Her personality is just everything to me, just the way her mind works is incredible. Any thought or idea she had she would have a very beautiful form of expression and would say it with a passion.

Even though I have had boyfriends before and they always ended with a heart break or being played with. Shes always there when I need her. There was a point where I almost confessed my feelings for her.

Flashback

We were walking down the beach, holding hands like if we were a couple. I felt happy around her, I always did. I've wanted to tell her that I had a crush on her, I have wanted to for a while. I thought this was the perfect moment since it was just the two of us together where I kept stealing glances at her and at times, I would catch her glancing at me as well, and we would smile and I would look down blushing. Lauren and Lucy had become closer than friends at some point, and I decided to take the step to tell Lauren before Lucy did.

"Lauren, I uh, need to tell you something." God I felt so awkward. I felt myself look down and I started fiddling with my fingers.

"Yeah Camz, what's up?" She said with her sweet raspy tone that I loved. I looked into her green eyes and I couldn't look away. I felt my knees starting to go weak, but I held myself together.

"I-I like"

The ringing of Lauren's phone interrupted me.

"Hold on one second camz."

She answered the phone. I started finding the ground more interesting and waited until she finished her phone call. I heard her squeal and I looked up at her in surprise.

"Guess what Camz?" She didn't even give me a chance to answer before she basically yelled it out.

"Lucy asked me out on a date!" I felt my smile drop but quickly put on a forced smile.

"That's great Lauren I'm happy for you."

"Thanks Camzi" She gave me a hug and after breaking the hug she asked me," What was it that you wanted to tell me?"

There's no point in telling her now. "Nothing just forget about it."

"Are you sure?" She looked at me with a worried expression.

"Yes lauren im sure." She responded with an ok and we continued to walk down the beach until we eventually went home and cried myself to sleep.

End Flashback

I felt her shift in the seat that was next to the hospital bed and saw her slowly open her green emerald eyes.

"Hey."

"Hey, how was your nap?" I asked her and as I saw her face I saw her cheek all marked with the chair.

"It was goo- why are you laughing?"

"Y-your face is all m-marked up." I could barely speak while bursting out laughing again.

Lauren pov

The whole time while Camila was laughing I couldn't help but see her laughing she looked so adorable. I couldn't help but just stare at her. I probably sound like a creep, but it's true. It made me happy knowing that I can make her laugh like that, even with the smallest things.

I started to feel the marks on my cheek and I went into the restroom and checked and yup, I had two lines on my cheek. I went back into the room and still saw Camila laughing. I went to her side and I started to tickle her gently and made her laugh even more.

"Lau- sto- stop" She kept laughing and I wouldn't stop.

"I will stop if you say that I am an amazing and badass." I told her.

"Alright al-right, you are ama-zing and a softy." I started tickling her more.

"Ok ok, I'll say it, you are a-mazing and."

"And?" I asked raising an eyebrow and I stopped tickling her.

"A badass." She said softly, I hadn't noticed that we had our faces almost touching. We fell into a comfortable silence just staring into each other's eyes until I looked down at her lips and I noticed that she was looking at my lips too. I felt myself slowly starting to lean in and saw her leaning in too. My head kept saying to stop it, you shouldn't do this but I couldn't help myself. I felt her lips touch mine and I felt intense tingling and the butterflies in my stomach going wild.
