"Jonathan what happened?" I asked Jonathan over FaceTime."I don't want to tell you this but he called you a slut and said he doesn't want to see you. Don't take it personal, you know how he gets after a loss, especially after a power play goal from his penalty.
"What am I supposed to do?" I felt tears brim my eyes.
Jonathan took a deep breath. "We're flying back tomorrow morning. You can go to my place but I know Kaner's going to ease up about this."
I didn't answer him, I just sniffled holding in the tears.
"Pack your things and go to my place. We'll figure it out when we get back. Don't worry about it, it's just all getting to him at once. He'll get over it." He said.
"Okay. Thank you." I softly said as I hung up and started to pack my essentials.
'Thanks a lot Auston.' I put his contact on mute so I didn't have to deal with his response.

The next morning I paced around Jonathan's house waiting for him to get back. It felt like I've done 50 laps around this kitchen.
"Is he still mad?" I asked when Jonathan walked through the door. Jonathan nodded his head.
"He didn't talk to anyone the whole ride home." He said.
"Ughhh." I threw my arms up in the air not knowing what to do. "I guess I'll go over there and try to talk to him later?"
"You can try but I don't think it's going to go the way you want it." Jon said honestly.
I spent the past couple of hours deciding on what to say and how to say it. I finally got the confidence and started walking to my apartment... I mean my old apartment?
I slowly opened the front door. Patrick was sitting on the couch on his phone. He looked up at me and didn't say a word.
"Hey." I softly said walking over to him.
"I hope you're here to give me your key." He said. Ouch. That hurt.
"I'm here to talk to you." I said.
"I don't want to talk."
"Patrick you can't just kick me out." I said.
"Go out and do something on your own. It's about time you stop relying on me for everything." His voice got louder.
"Patrick..."
"Do you think you could just live off me your whole life? Get a job for fucks sake." He said. I pulled out my keys and took off the one key I had to the apartment. I put it on the counter and walked out the door. Yes I did live off Patrick but I wasn't using him for that. He was my brother and I loved him for every reason besides his money. I didn't know he thought that I was using him. I'll prove him wrong. On the walk home I stopped in a small coffee shop that was about a 2 minute walk from Jonathan's place. They hired me on the spot due to their low amount of workers. I needed to get my own place. I can't rely on Jonathan like I did with Patrick.
I got back to Jon's apartment and explained everything to him.
"I know you aren't using me. You didn't have to get a job." He said.
"I did it for me. I need to grow up and not rely on you guys for everything."
"Just don't do it for me." He said. "If you're doing for yourself then I'll support you the whole way."
Just then the front door opened. I jumped up to see if it was Patrick but it wasn't. It was Alex.
"This is weird. Usually the party's at Kaner's place." He said.
