I grunt as I slam the door to my apartment and throw my bag on the floor. My keys thrown to the coffee table.

"Well someone's in a good mood," my roommate, Yoongi, teases as he walks out of his room. "What's wrong Jinnie?" He settles down on the couch patting the seat next to him.

I say nothing as I give him a look trying to communicate that it's the same problem I always seem to have. "How bad was it this time?"

"His wife came the same time he did." I say slumping myself next to him. His eyes widen in shock.

"He's married?!"

"Was," I corrected, "at least I think he will be after what she saw today. I've never been more embarrassed in my entire life." I lay my head on his lap waiting for him to comfort me.

"I can't say I didn't see it coming," he says as he starts massaging my scalp. "You seem to always want the assholes."

"What's that supposed to mean?" I ask defensively.

"Can you honestly say that you didn't find this guy sketchy at some point?"

I pout knowing he had some sort of point. "I didn't think he was married though," I defend. "I assumed he was going to have someone on the side like my past relationships. I didn't think I'd be the person on the side."

"Why do you keep going after these men?" Yoongi questions.

"Bad luck I guess," I shrug. "Maybe cupid misinterpreted the meaning of love when it came to me."

He shakes his head, "that's not it. I've seen you go out with people who are sincere and deserving of you, but your self sabotaging ass ends it when you see the possibility of finding happiness with them."

"I do not do that!" I get up from the couch ready to make a dramatic exit when the mention of one person stops me on my tracks.

"Namjoon," he spits out. "He loved you. He was ready to marry you, and your stubborn ass left him when things seemed too good to be true."

"Well he's doing fine now. He and Jimin had a gorgeous wedding and have been happily married for two years. They're even expecting a second baby now."

"And that could've been you happily married, laying around scratching your belly, picking out baby names."

"You weren't saying that when you were helping yourself to the buffet at the reception," I mutter.

"Namjoon isn't my only point. I'm happy for them and I know you are too, but I know it hurts you not allowing yourself to find what you could've had with him."

"I'm not listening to this again," I grab my jacket ready to head out again.

"Yes the fuck you are," he snaps back getting off the couch. "You shoot down any guy who is willing to love you the way you deserve to be loved, but date the guy you know you won't last in a relationship with."

"I'm going for a walk," I ignore him already reaching for the door.

"Seokjin," he holds me back by my arm. His tone is cold but his eyes show sympathy. "Let yourself open up to love for once. I know you don't think you deserve it but you do. You're a great person, and I know the right person is out there somewhere. You just have to let them in."

"I'm leaving." I yank my arm from his grip and finally head out. I know I'm getting an earful from him when I get back, but I just need fresh air for now.

I shouldn't have dismissed him the way I did because I know he's just looking out for me. That's all he's ever done since freshman year of high school when my parents divorced and both decided that neither one wanted to keep me. I found that funny, actually, how throughout their whole failure of a marriage that's the only thing they agreed on. Eventually, I proposed a plan that involved them basically paying me money to fuck off.

At fourteen years old, I convinced my parents to send me monthly checks that covered rent, food and clothes in exchange for them never having to see or hear from me again. I thought I was living every teenager's dream when it happened, but being a spoiled rich kid I didn't know how to do anything like cook or clean, and even though I wouldn't admit it at the time, I was also lonely.

Yoongi and I were paired up to work on a school project together at the time and when he found out how I had been living he talked to his parents to let me live with them while I found a new home with a responsible adult.

They ended up adopting me instead and Yoongi and I have been inseparable ever since. We're actually so inseparable that for a while people thought we were dating. Which we tried eventually when we both moved out of his parents' house and decided to continue living together, but when we kissed each other for the first time we felt gross, like we committed incest. We each brushed our teeth for ten minutes right after and promised each other never to do it again.

This story won't be as long as Don't Let Me Fall. It won't have as much drama either. Think of it as more of a fluff. Hope you all enjoy 💜
