This is unedited. Hope y'all enjoy. There's really not much going on in this chapter. And there's quite a bit of cussing, you've been warned lol.

Jesy's POV:

I'll never get the images of my baby girl coughing up blood and bleeding out on the ground out of my head. It got harder and harder for her to take in air as the seconds ticked by. Jade and I attempted to stop the bleeding but there was so much. As the ambulance arrived, Kenzie gave me a weak smile and squeezed my hand before her eyes closed.

"You're going to wear yourself out, Jes." Perrie says softly, referring to the fact I've been pacing since we got here, only sitting down long enough to fill out some paperwork.

"My daughter got shot!" I snap at her, quickly regretting it. "I'm sorry, Pez. I shouldn't snap at you, it isn't your fault." Dropping into the chair beside Jade, who has been silent since we arrived. She has tears running down her face and I know her clothes are stiff from Kenzie's blood, just like mine. Fresh tears fall from my eyes. I should've been paying more attention to her or told her to stay close to me. If I had done that this wouldn't have happened. It's my fault she got shot.

"No, it's not your fault she got shot, Jes." Leigh-Anne tells me and I realize I said that out loud. "The only person at fault is the one who shot her."

"Listen to Leigh-Anne, Jesy."

My head whips toward the entrance of the waiting room at my Mum's soft voice. I jump up and launch myself into her arms, breaking down, temporarily forgetting about my blood stiffened clothes. The other mums envelope me in a group huge before going to their respective daughters. I pull back slightly from Mum.

"Not that I'm not happy to see you all, but what are you doing here? I only called you like an hour ago."

She guides me to a chair and grabs a tissue, drying my tears. "Kenzie set it up. We were supposed to be your special guests tomorrow."

I give a slight chuckle and push a strand of hair behind my ear. "Sounds like Kenzie."

"Yeah, it does. Have you heard anything?"

Sniffling, I shake my head. "Nope and it's been a little over two hours."

A series of dings can be heard throughout the room. The girls and I look at each other but none of us make a move to check our phones. Apparently somebody took pictures and video after Kenzie was shot and posted them on social media. They were taken down but since then we've been flooded with questions, everybody wanting to know what happened. I'm not saying anything until I know my baby is okay.

"Family of Makenzie Nelson."

We all jump up and stand in front of a woman in light blue scrubs.

"I'm her Mum."

"I just came out to give you an update. Makenzie is doing very well so far but we still have a long way to go. It'll be anywhere from two to four more hours before the surgery is finished. I'll keep you updated throughout."

"Thank you."

She walks away and I turn to the group behind me.

"She's strong, she'll make it through this, babes." Leigh-Anne states, wiping her tears.

Biting my lip, I nod.

"We brought you and Jade some clothes. You two go get cleaned up." Mum says as her and Norma hand Jade and I each a bag.

Without a word we leave the waiting room to get cleaned up. Thirty minutes later we return to the waiting room in clean clothes to find everyone talking quietly.
