The crunching of dead leaves on the forest floor was what gave away that somebody was following Tokoyami. He turned his head and saw none other than Tsuyu Asui.

"Why are you following me?"

"Thought that you could use some company, kero."

Tokoyami sighed. "Fine, but don't disturb me."

"Ribbit."

As they kept on walking, Tokoyami let his mind wander and remember all the memories he had in this forest. No matter how hard he tried, there was always one memory that stuck out.

A girl he had been friends with till 3rd grade. The first person other than his parents to not judge what he looked liked. The funny thing was he could no longer remember what she looked liked.

Just as he was about to take another step, Tsuyu's tongue wrapped around him and pulled him back.

Tokoyami looked in front of him and saw that he was about to fall into a lake.

Another memory came into his mind. He was drowning at the very same lake. Water was filling his lungs and just when he was about to give up, he pulled from the water. When he woke up, he was told that the girl, Lilypad, was the one who pulled him out.

"Tokoyami, are you there?"

He snapped out of his thoughts. He turned to Asui. "Thanks, Lilypad." The bird-headed boy then realized what he had said. "No no no, th-that's not what I meant, I-"

Then Asui said something all too familiar to his ears.

"Raven?"

His eyes widened.

"How do you know that name?"

Asui stared at him, small tears in her eyes, and replied:

"That's what I called a childhood friend who almost drowned in this lake."

They just stared at each other for a few minutes, reminiscing the memories and remembering each other's faces.

Asui then stepped forward and immediately hugged him. It took a few seconds, but Tokoyami eventually returned the hug.

Right now, there was only one thought in their minds.

'We were right under each other's noses the entire time.'
