Arabelle Warren
"Good morning, sweetheart," Saoirse hummed into my ear, tightening her arms around my waist. "I love you."
I peeled her arms off of me, rolling farther away from her with a scowl. Without waiting to look at her, I trudged into the closet and closed the door with unnecessary strength, a slam resonating throughout the bungalow.
I hopped into a pair of high waisted jeans and shoved my arms into a beige and white striped knitted top, tucking the front of it into my jeans. I put socks on and made my way into the bathroom.
My poor teeth were brushed harshly and my hair was practically ripped from my head as I brushed it with no remorse, throwing it up into a lazy bun on the top of my head.
When I opened the door back into the bedroom, Saoirse was sitting up in her oversized top, bedhead everywhere. She had the cutest – I scowled – confused look on her face. My anger almost wavered – almost.
Her light eyebrows were furrowed in confusion, lips tilted downwards into a frown, eyes brimmed with just as much confusion as her expression.
We made eye contact and her eyebrows furrowed even more. "Good morning, baby," she repeated again, slower this time.
My scowl reappeared and I waved a finger at her. "You don't get to say that shit to me this morning, Saoirse," I huffed back, reaching for the doorknob.
In only a brief second, she was up, a pale hand wrapped around my wrist. "Arabelle," her tone was soft, "what in the world is going on?"
"You cheated on me!" I growled, ripping my arm out of her grasp.
Glancing at her, she looked completely stunned, but her lips were quirked in amusement. "Do you care to tell me when I did this?"
"Last night. In my dream," I grumbled back, looking away from her. "You bought a dog with her, Saoirse! A dog! You don't even fucking like dogs. What about Lola, huh? So not cool."
I maneuvered around her and stomped out of the room, being more than disappointed when Tess, Jamie, and Dot looked at me from their respective seats at our kitchen island.
Was I being overdramatic and completely unnecessary? Maybe. But it had felt so real!
I tell her I'm in love with her last night and then she cheats on me with Dot that same night in my dream! What a bitch.
"Do you like dogs, Dot?" I asked when I sat down beside Tessa at the island.
The curly haired blonde looked at me with an amused grin. "I love 'em."
My scowl deepened.
So Saoirse bought the dog because Dot liked them. She was willing to spend at least fifteen years taking care of a dog she didn't even like just because the bitch – I mean witch – wanted one.
Where was my dog?
"Good morning, Ari," Tess greeted kindly from beside me. From my downward view of the island, I saw a plate filled with breakfast food slide in front of me. I twisted my head to glance curiously at the Hunter, who smiled at me. "Breakfast?"
I picked up the fork she slid over, mumbling a thank you to her. She merely patted my back in response, going back to whatever conversation the three of them were in before I'd stormed into the room.
I heard my mate walk into the room maybe fifteen minutes later. I'd already finished my food and was putting it in the dishwasher when Dorothy said, "What's with the face?"
