"Marry one of my sons," the king blurted out after Seth's exit. It caught Hebe off guard.
"What?"
"I want you to pick a husband from one of my sons"
Hebe laughed. Nainis siya. Inis na inis siya sa kanyang narinig. "No." She tried to calm herself but failed. "Para saan? Para pag usapan kami ng mga tao? The father's mistress became the son's wife?" She laughed again. Hebe was annoyed. Big time.
"You have no choice, Aphrodite. Gusto kong may mapili ka mula sa lima at the end of the month." He lay down and faced the direction opposite to Hebe.
"Putangina" Hebe silently cursed. Judging from his position, he will no longer listen and be convinced by her.
"Get out. Kelangan ko ng magpahinga" She didn't need his command as she was on her way out. Nakasimangot si Hebe palabas ng pintuan. Nag-abot ang kanyang kilay.
A guy leaned on the wall opposite the king's room. His eyes looked straight to Hebe's direction. Seth waited for him tulad ng sinabi niya kanina. When she was about to walk past him, Seth grabbed his hand and held it. Nagulat naman si Hebe. Nanlaki ang kanyang mga mata at sinubukang pumiglas sa hawas ng lalake ngunit nagsimula na itong maglakad habang hawak hawak siya.
"Teka nga nasasaktan ako!" bulyaw ni Hebe kay Seth. Patuloy parin siyang kinaladkad nito hanggang sa nasa tapad na sila ng kotse niya. He opened the passenger seat for her and pushed her slightly towards the car. "Pasok"
He seemed to be in a rush that she didn't have a choice but to follow him. Sa patuloy niyang pagpapa-usog kay Hebe patungo sa kanyang sasakyan ay sumakay nalang rin ito. He hurriedly sat on the driver seat too.
"Seatbelt" he said while wearing his own seatbelt. Sinunod din naman siya ni Hebe. On her peripheral vision, she was certain he flashed a smile.
"Gusto mo mag music?" She glanced at him for awhile but his eyes were fixed on the road. Balik na naman siya sa kanyang walang kibong mukha, na-isip ni Hebe.
"It's okay"
"Hot.. or cold?" Seth bit his lip. His left hand was steady on the steering wheel while the other brushed his hair. The sunlight beamed on his face that on Hebe's eyes his irises were light brown in color and his pointy nose was highlighted.
She chose the latter so Seth drove her to the nearest ice cream shop. Noong naka-park na sila ay tinitigan ni Hebe si Seth. Her eyes were asking him why. Bakit nga ba sila nandito? But, he didn't answer her and instead got down the car first. Sumunod naman si Hebe agad at hinila siya. He let her drag him closer.
"Anong ginagawa natin dito?" Hebe repeated. This time, she's already annoyed.
"Should I say because you're upset? No."
"What?"
"Should I say it's coincidence? That'd be a lie."
"What's your point?"
"I'm here because I need time to breathe from Clio's drama."
"E bat mo ko sinama?" Her eyes furrowed. Lines formed and were visible from in between her eyebrows. Seth flashed a smile. His lips wipe open showing eight of his teeth.
"I like you" He didn't understand but she flared up, angry enough to melt the whole ice cream shop down.
