HENERSON

Not this again.

Please! Enough of this!

My fist trembled as I watched from a distance. The laughter was loud, although I couldn't remember what was there to laugh at. Mayvel and I were enjoying our conversation, unaware of what was coming.

I could have protected her, but dammit!

'Don't! Don't go inside!' I shouted to myself as he twisted the doorknob open, his eyes focused on Mayvel so that he didn't notice the knife coming until it buried itself in his abdomen.

The sharp object went deeper in a second before it was pulled out, and blood began to pour on the floor. He leaned against the doorway for support as his knees went weak.

And for the very first time, fear started eating me from the inside.

I wanted to shout, to call for help, but I couldn't find my voice.

The pain... Am I going to die?

'Hener!' Mayvel was in shock, her eyes filling with fear. But she did what she thought she needed to do and followed that woman inside, thinking they wouldn't hurt her—

But she was wrong.

'Stop! Enough of this!' I covered my ears, knowing full well what would happen next.

No... Please, enough...

'Mayvel! Mayvel!'

My heart raced in fear as I called out her name, but—

"Henerson."

My eyes widened as the scenery changed, and I was no longer in that nightmare. Everything went white and peaceful, just from the sound of his voice.

"It's okay..." Hope appeared in front of me. I stared at him, longingly, my eyes filling with tears. "I'm here."

"Hope."

"I'm here."

All my fears disappeared into thin air as I hugged him close. His warm body felt so real, and I was so relieved that he was there.

I've always wanted to do this, ever since I saw you again after so long. All I wanted was to pull you back into my arms and never let go. But everything fell apart before I could. I don't want you to know what happened. I'm afraid you'll blame yourself because of it.

If I caused you such pain again like before, I could never forgive myself.

It's better if I keep my distance from you, to be completely out of your life, but you are so stubborn. You never listened...

My eyes felt like they were drowning as he stood close, his warmth providing the comfort I needed.

This is what I want. You are what I need, but if I keep you here, you'll get hurt. I'll make you suffer again...

A tear escaped as I snuggled closer to him.

I'd rather not be forgiven by you than see you blame yourself for this.

It's better for you to hate me rather than for you to hate yourself.

"Henerson."

So please understand...

"Henerson, wake up." Benny's voice pulled me out of my dreams.

And even though I was expecting pain all over my head as I got used to it, I felt nothing but calmness as I squeezed a smaller body against me.
