BACK AT THE PRISON

“Jenna won’t listen to me, Luke. She’s convinced T-Bag’s changing. He killed our mother and put me in a wheelchair. Now she’s having his kid.”

“You have every right to be protective, B. Jenna is the only family you have, you know, until she pops that kid out.”

“I don’t understand how she could go for an ex-con when she could have anyone else in the world.” Luke replied, turning over to look at his concerned friend.

“You have always carried a torch for Jenna, it’s too bad she didn’t fall for you instead of that white trailer park trash bastard.”

“You cannot go home right now, Brandon. You can stay with me for a while. As long as you like.” Luke said

IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD; THE DRIVEWAY OF THE HOUSE T-BAG BOUGHT

“Oh, this place is so beautiful.” I say, stepping inside

“I had a feeling you’d like it.” T-Bag said, taking my jacket off

“I’m sorry about Brandon’s rudeness.”

“I’m sure the boy will come around.”

“He told me that he wanted us broken up and have you in jail so you wouldn’t know about his adoption plan.”

“You know that you don’t have to go through with any of it.”

“I know.. If my brother takes this child from us, I will make him regret it.”

“He won’t touch him. God as my witness, he won’t lay a hand on you, or our child.” T-Bag said, placing his hand on top of mine, our fingers interlacing as I look into his dark eyes, smiling warmly

“I want us to be a family, Teddy. I won’t let Brandon get in the way. Brandon.. I can’t go home with him waiting to lay into me about this whole thing.”

T-Bag had run his hand up and down my back, and had begun to rub my shoulders in a gentle circular motion. I fall backward into his chest. I wrap one arm gently around his neck while tousling his hair. His lips felt warm against the cool flesh of my neck. I slide down. My head against his chest. He pulls me against him. Pressing his lips to my forehead as I wrap my arms around his waist.

“Spend the night here. This is your home, too. You can stay as long as you’d like.”

“Thank you..” I say softly, closing my eyes as I inhale his scent

AT LUKE’S APARTMENT

“That guy is a monster. Jenna can give that kid a better life. She’s just too stubborn to see it. She always had a thing for bad boys.” Brandon said, getting two ice cold sodas from the fridge

“She might come around eventually, B. Don’t give up on her too quickly.”

“I hope you’re right, Luke. I just want what’s best for Jenna, and that kid.”

BACK AT T-BAG AND JENNA’S

“Oh, my God. Three bathrooms?” I asked

“One for you, one for me, and Teddy Jr.”

He looks over to see my face down toward the floor. He puts his hand on my shoulder as I turn to face him. He could sense the sadness that showed in my eyes.

“Jenna..?” T-Bag asked, swerving his head to meet my gaze

“What are we gonna do about my brother? He is hell-bent on giving our kid up for adoption.” I ask him, my voice breaking
