(Warning: There might be some cursing in this story!)
I kept hearing my name being called out. " Truth! Truth are you there?"
The voice sounded familiar but I just couldn't quite figure out who it was. 'Wait...' A image of a little boy flashed in my mind. I turned around trying to find the source of the voice. "Is that you? Is that really you Li-"BEEP BEEP BEEP!
I was awoken from the dream by the sharp noises of my alarm clock.
"Come on... give me five more minutes," I mumbled, still half asleep until I realized what day of the week it was. "Shit! What time is it," My body snapped upwards, turning to look at the alarm clock while simultaneously turning it off.
It was 8:05! I shoved the covers off myself and hurried over to my dresser to change my clothes as fast as I could, repeatedly thinking 'Please don't let me be late!'I arrived at school at 8:29. I ended up having to skip breakfast so I would be able to make it on time, since school started at 8:35 and I usually took more time than I needed.
I had started going to this school after I had arrived from America. I was able to get a small apartment with the money I technically borrowed from my father, since he wasn't going to need it anymore. 'Maybe I should consider getting a part-time job just in case,' I thought to myself and I started walking towards my homeroom. The bell rang. I had sat down at my desk, next to the window. I had personally asked for that seat so I could look outside when I wanted to. All the students had already taken their seats and the teacher was getting ready to begin today's lesson. Soon enough, the teacher began to announce that we were going to start a new subject in our class about gods, which I didn't really care about since I'm not really a religious person. I noticed that the brown-haired boy who sat in front of me was peering around the classroom as if having nothing else to do while the teacher was speaking to the class. I haven't tried interacting with the brunette yet but I've heard from other students that he's really smart. 'I should probably introduce myself,' I thought. I had also realized how whenever I looked at him a strange feeling would come over me, like as if I knew him from somewhere. I knew that when I lived in Japan as a young child I would play with a kid that was my age but I couldn't remember much. 'What was his name again? Lift? No, that's not right.' I shook my head. 'I'm sure it's probably nothing.'

Before I knew it, it was lunch already. I decided I was going to try to talk with him. I looked around the area where others were having lunch. 'Now where would a person like him sit... oh!' I perked up when I saw him sitting alone at one of the tables closest to the wall.
???'s POV(pretty sure you know who):
I was sitting down at one of the lunch tables, trying to work on the homework we were given so far, finding it quite easy. I hadn't even realized that someone had come up to me and started tapping on my shoulder until I heard a voice behind me ask, "Excuse me?"
I turned around to be faced with a person I recognized as the girl who joined our class a few weeks ago.
I noticed she was trying to say something so I decided to try to get her to say what she wanted to. "Hello, do you need something?"Truth's POV:
"Hello, do you need something?"
I felt my cheeks heat up from embarrassment. "Um... I'm sorry if I interrupted you, but I was wondering if I could eat lunch with you?" He looked at me, as if to see if I was telling the truth or not(keep in mind this is before he found the death note).
Hesitantly the brown-haired boy nodded. I smiled, happy that he didn't tell me to go away since I had nowhere else to go. As I sat down next to him I asked, "So, what's your name? I'm Truth Mirikai."
He gave me a small smile.
"It's Light Yagami."(I hope that you enjoyed the first real chapter of this story! I'll be trying to update daily!)
