The Exit

Natsu jolted awake by a sound of a scream, Bre squashed next to him. Whats going on? He thought he rubbing his head. He looked around the camp but nothing seemed different. Besides Bre being next to him instead of Lucy. Lucy.. Natsu totally forgot about her his eyes danced around looking for any sign of the mage his eyes gazed in front of him he could see her now though she was covered by shadows. She was hurt. Someone Hurt her..

"Luce!" Natsu shouted jumping to her cradling her head in his lap. She had about two wounds in the shape of gunshots. They were just below her heart leaving it untouched. Lucy slowly opened her eyes but immediatly started coughing Natsu helped her sit up and patted her back then laid her back down. He was eager to know what had happened but didn't want to push her. Happy made sure Bre stayed away from the two so she wouldn't make Lucy stress out. They were sitting there for about 10 minutes before Lucy could speak. "N-natsu.." She whispered

"Yeah Luce I'm here. It's okay safe your breathe.." Secretly Natsu was freaking out he wanted to get revenge on whoever or whatever did this too Lucy but he didn't want to make Lucy upset.

"H-he was going to shoot both of you. He won't l-leave us alone until he has me!" Working herself too hard she dropped unconcious again. Virgo using her own power came with bandages to wrap around Lucy. Happy finally convinced Bre too get some sleep while Natsu keeps an eye on there hurt friend. Natsu had Lucy in his lap; her back against his stomach while he rested his chin on the top of her head stroking her soft baby-like hands. "Don't worry Luce.. Your gonna be alright" Lucy opened her eyes once again and looked up she smirked " I love you.. " Then she faded back into unconciousness.

The next morning Lucy still was unconcious showing no signs of waking up again so Natsu just carried her Bridal style. Bre and Happy were talking about who could catch the most fish.

" Well my mom and I caught 22 once! " Bre shouted

" Well Natsu and I caught 30 fish in two hours ! " Negative aura's were surrounding the two but Natsu didn't mind he liked the entertainment besides it didn't seem like they were getting close to any exit. But just as Natsu was losing hope that this was the wrong path he saw a tunnel of light. Interrupting the arguing Natsu started running

"C'mon you guys the exit is right there!" Natsu reached the light running through it revealing a big field. " Yes! Happy shoot the flare! "

"Aye sir!"

About an hour later the two other teams arrived worried about Lucy's condition. But Natsu reassured them that she was gonna be fine.

Lucy finally woke up Batting her eyes. She was leaning on someone thinking it was Natsu she allowed herself to lay there. She figured they were in some type of cart because Natsu was laying on the ground his face pale and blue.

Wait..

"KYAA" She screamed jumping in her seat hitting her head on the roof. She was laying on Gray.

Natsu smirked seeing that Lucy was finally off of his rival. He was extremely jealous but couldn't do anything about it because of the state he was in. They were traveling to a nearby town so they could see if the towns people new about an nearby ruins or where they were. Lucy finally settling down noticed her wound was healed and her lung no longer felt weird. "Arigato Wendy" Wendy just nodded and smiled knowing what she was talking about.

"So Luce who shot you?" Natsu asked through clenched teeth.

"I-it was Usani he was aiming for you and Bre and instincts were to jump in front." She twiddled her thumbs in her lap
