"Hey can you get the last bags out the backseat!" I called out to my sister.
"Next time you invite me over, please let me know what it is you're doing first." My sister huffed out in frustration as she attempted to shake herself dry.
"I needed your help it's raining!" I whined as my sister rolled her eyes.
"Have you had any luck with finding a job?" My sister asked, currently, if it wasn't that obvious I'm unemployed. My last job I'd had just about enough of the bullshit. Customer service was the absolute worst! People were so stupid and entitled it was hard to put up with. One day I had about enough of this lady's tantrum over her payment, I just had to let her and everyone in the office have it!
And now here I was, running out of the money I had saved and still no job and in all honesty I hadn't applied for one. I didn't see any job that I wanted to do. Customer service had completely ruined how i felt about people and a warehouse job was out of the question. The only thing I could honestly think of myself doing was either going back to school or starting my own business, and I was way too indecisive to do either of those options.
"No." I said not even mentioning to my sister that I haven't even tried.
"Well the CEO of the company is looking for a new assistant; I can put in a recommendation for you and see if I can secure you an interview spot?" My sister suggested. My sister, Melanie was a short petite fire cracker, with light brown curly shoulder length hair. Fiery hazel eyes and teeth straight as an arrow thanks to braces for 5 years! She always knew what she was talking about; in fact she wouldn't speak on anything that she didn't know about. Melanie was my older sister she's always been a mother figure to me especially when our parents died in a car crash when I was six and Melanie was nine. When our parents died our aunt took us in. Melanie always had to be the strong one, the rational one, and the one who always cleaned up my mess. As a teenager I was very rebellious and always found myself in trouble and dancing to the beat of my own drum. Melanie was always saving my ass.
"So why don't you or your coworkers apply to be the CEO's assistant?" I asked.
"You think we got time for that? I already have a job and so does everyone else who works for the company. So are you in or are you out?" She raised a perfectly arched eyebrow.
"I'm in." I grumbled. Ew, taking orders from someone and being so up and close to your boss just gave me a weird feeling. At my other jobs my main goal was to stay clear of my boss!
"Now that we've got that out of the way, can we watch 'Money Heist' now?"
"I'll get the snacks."
_____________________________"Hey what're you doing right now?" My sister asked once I tapped answer on my phone.
"Leaving Baskin Robbins, what's up?" I questioned attempting to multitask with holding my phone in between my ear and right shoulder, lick my ice cream before it drips, and look both ways before crossing the street.
"I got you an interview!" My sister squealed.
"Oh wow, really?" I asked shocked, that didn't take long.
"Yeah, aren't you excited?" She asked.
"I will be when I find out what the pay is." I said standing outside of my car.
"You start at fifty-thousand a year, after three months you get a raise and each year that you last you get a bonus check." She rushed, she sounded like she was busy.
"I don't even know how to be an assistant but for fifty-thousand and more a year, how would you like your coffee CEO!" I joked.
"You just do what you're told and pay attention. The CEO is a 'He' by the way." She stated matter-of-factly.
