A/N- Hey y'all! I'm so sorry it's taken forever for me to update so I've made an extra long chapter to make up for it. Ever since quarantine hit I've been super unmotivated to write or really do much of anything, but I'm back and do plan on updating more often- hopefully once a week again as I used to. Thank you all for your patience and I hope you enjoy the new chapter!

Nova awoke to silence.

She rose from the small bed slowly and began putting her armor on in the darkness, piece by piece, except for her helmet of course since she had slept wearing it. Din had insisted upon her sleeping on the bed while he made himself a soft cushion of blankets on the floor. She wondered where Din had gone off to. The birds were chirping outside and Nova took a peek out of the window to see the sunlight upon the horizon and the villagers hard at work in the ponds surrounding the outskirts of the village in a large circle, however neither Din nor Cara were anywhere to be seen.

Nova frowned at her companion's sudden disappearance, she was going to be upset if they had left her to sleep while they scouted without her.

Sure enough, she watched as the pair broke the tree line a ways away from the barn that she had rested in. Her frown deepened as she saw the pair with weapons in hand, obviously having been scouting. She marched her way outside and met them halfway.

"You ditched me," Nova stated with an attitude, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I didn't want to wake you up, you seemed peaceful," Din retorted, gentleness present in his tone which had been very much absent in Nova's.

Cara piped up from the sidelines, gaining Nov's attention, "I told him you would be pissed but he didn't listen."

Nove whipped her head back around to Din who seemed to cower slightly beneath her cold stare. Despite the helmet covering her glare, he knew she was sending him a look that could put him six feet under.

Nova just huffed and dropped her arms before walking away back towards the barn, "Next time you leave me out, even your beskar won't be able to save you," she called over her shoulder only half-joking.

Cara jogged to catch up to the irritated woman and began telling her of their findings whilst Din remained behind the pair, not wanting to piss off his companion any further.

"Well shit," Nova commented after hearing of the AT-ST, "this isn't going to be fun."

Cara nodded in agreement, "I think we should leave, they neglected to tell us about it on purpose, and our reward isn't going to be worth the trouble or potential death sentence.

Nova pondered this for a moment, but before she could give her opinion, Cara had gathered the village in front of the barn that Din and Nova called home for the time being, and Din began talking to the crowd.

"Bad news. Y'can't live here anymore," Din stated bluntly.

This was met with immediate protests from the villagers causing Nova to sigh heavily.

"Nice bedside manner," Cara scolded Din quietly, making Nova laugh.

"You think you can do better?" Din bickered.

"Can't so much worse," Cara responded before speaking out to the crowd again, "I know this is not the news you wanted to hear but there are no other options."

"You took the job!" The man who had flirted with Nova before yelled out.

Another villager mimicked his agreement before Cara responded, "That was before we knew about the AT-ST."

Nova shivered at the thought of one being so close to them.

"What is that?" A villager questioned.
