The beach wasn't as crowded as I thought. The clouds were this dark pinkish color, and the sand was dirty, with wood sticking upwards out of it in some places and broken glass shards ready to cut someone's foot tonight. Cars and pick up trucks sat in front of the tall pine trees, circling the beach. The water was greenish blue, and The Megs Of Ryan band was setting up their instruments.
The other band was here too, but I couldn't figure out which one was Griffin, no one described him to me and it was kind of confusing. "Hey girly." I turned to see Joanna and her in different clothes. "You look pretty." I said, nudging her in the arm. "As always. Who you looking for?" The wind blew strongly at that moment, and she yelled over the water against the rocks.
"Griffin's right there if that's who you are looking for. I told him about you too, they need a female singer and I put in a good name for you." She smiled. I didn't like this Griffin guy and I hadn't even met him yet. "You should talk to him, in the mean time, you want a drink?" I laughed and grabbed the bottle of beer in her hand. I wrapped my lips around the chocolate colored bottle and waited for the alcohol to rinse my mouth with the taste of beer and Ramen noodles, I'm pretty sure I needed a breath mint.
I watched as her orange flip flops clobbered the sand, and she flop to the hooked up microphone. "ALRIGHT!!!" She yelled into the speaker. "Today we are having two incredible bands perform. The first one up is Megs Of Ryan, I actually have no idea what song they're performing, but you'll like it. EVERYBODY GET DRUUNKKK!!!!" She screamed, you could hear the beer gurgling in the back of her throat. Everyone went into an avalanche of screams when the music started.
Ashlee winked at Joanna and played the Solid-Body Guitar, it was black and you could see the sky's reflection on its paint. I really couldn't hear what Kaine was saying, but he was close up to the mic, with his gelled hair and from all the way back here I smelt his axe cologne burn through my nostrils, but it was a nice type of burning. His Fender Jazzmaster Jim Root custom guitar in ebony black, hovered over his private area and I smiled at him when I saw his eyes glaze over mine.
"He good ain't he?" My heart raced when I heard a boy's voice on the side of my ear, it was warm and sent a tingle through my body. "Uh, um y-yea. You um scared me." I looked closely at his features. His pale complexion and cerulean colored eyes, a black ring on the plump of his bottom lip. His hair was toddled upwards to the sky and yea he was definitely hot. "The names Griffin. And yours?" All the thoughts I was thinking suddenly vanished when i heard him say his name, gosh I was in love with him and I didn't even know who he was.
"Ava Berg, Umm aren't you in a band?" He nodded, as he slid a Marlboro pack out of his pocket. "We're performing tonight. Kaine there is drummer." I stared at Kaine and never before has he looked so hungry for success than now. "Want one?" He asked lighting one for me. I had never smoked before, and I didn't want my first time to be with this guy. But at the same time I kind of liked him.
"Sure." I copied what he did, so I didn't look weird. Inhale deeply, puff out. Inhale. Exhale. Pretty soon we were smoking together, and chatting about the random-est crap. "So...Ava, when's your birthday?"
"Why would I tell you that?" I questioned, the sound of his voice in my ear. "Okay fine, horoscope?" I sighed and whispered, "Aquarius." He started snorting and looked at me. "Scorpio, I'm older. And you're seventeen born February Umm eleventh?" That was scary how he guessed that, but I paid no attention to it, just the fact that the song was almost over.
"You're right mr. big shot. Look Umm you're up next and I really gotta get home. You can have my number okay?" He nodded and I slipped him my number. He grabbed my wrists and pulled me close to him, I could feel his heart beat on my chest. "Keep your phone on." I smiled at him and walked backwards, getting so many glances at him.
