Veronica threw her phone down in disgust, how could Betty still be doing this to her?

She knew that she was confused...to say the least, but a total homophobic disaster? She would have never known.

"Fuck you, Betty Cooper," Veronica told herself, convincing herself it was the right thing to forget about her.

Her door opened and Hiram Lodge stood in the archway, "Everything alright, mija?"

"Yes," Veronica sneered quickly, not wanting to worry him, "It's all good, Dad."

"You know you can talk to me about anything..." Hiram's eyes darted between her phone on the floor and her face, "Right?"

"I know."

"I don't even mind talking about...girl stuff," Hiram smiled softly, "I know some other parents might not be the same, so I want you to know I am a hundred percent with you."

It all clicked. A light bulb turned on in Veronica's head, Betty's parents. That was probably why she sounded like she was going through an bumpy monologue and it would explain all the background noise.

"Thanks."

Veronica had tried to send messages to Betty, but they all simply turned green, a sign she was blocked.

It wasn't until Monday that she saw the unmistakable blonde ponytail swishing on the road, missing a certain ginger stallion beside her.

"Hey!" Veronica called out, "Bee!"

Betty turned around, regretting it as she saw her reaction, "Vee..."

"Oh my god," Veronica placed a hand on her cheek, brushing the mark on her face lightly, "Who did this to you?"

"N-No one, okay?" Betty grabbed her wrist, pushing it away. "I just...fell."

There were obvious bruises over Betty's face.

"Did your parents do this to you, Bee?" Veronica's eyebrows crossed, how dare they. "Are they the reason you were acting so weird on the phone?"

Betty's eyes scanned the roads around them, she felt tears prick them before turning back to the girl in front of her. "Y-Yes..."

Veronica grabbed her, pulling her into a hug, "I'm so sorry this happened to you..."

"Veronica..." Betty pulled out of the hug, "You realise we can't do this anymore?"

"I..." Veronica sighed, "I do."

"I'm sorry," Betty dug her nails into her palms, "You must hate me."

"Hate you?" Veronica sighed, "Have the desperate fuck-me eyes I've been giving you not enough?"

Betty let out a small chuckle as she felt tears flood her eyes, "It was horrible..."

Veronica dug her head into Betty's shoulder, pulling her back into a tight hug. Betty didn't even object as she dropped her hands too close to her ass.

It didn't take long before she snapped out of it, "I think it's best that we keep our distance, Veronica."

"You're seriously just gonna push me away? What the hell, Cooper!"

"It's not you..."

"Don't you dare use that bullshit line on me," Veronica poked her in the chest, "You know, I get that you're having issues. Going through a personal journey or whatever. But don't fuck with me."

"Veronica-"

"No, you talk to me when you're ready."
