Proof read: Yes :)

I woke up due to the sun shining through my awfully thin curtains. I looked at the small clock next to my bed which read 7:08 am. I groaned and sat up just as father walked in and told me to get ready. I placed one foot on the floor to be met with cold hardwood. "It couldn't be snowing" I thought, as I looked out the window just to notice the white covered grass. Well, I thought wrong.

I put on my slippers and walked to my vanity to brush my short, wavy blonde hair. Then, applied some makeup which consisted of concealer, blush and mascara. I didn't apply a lot because I simply didn't know how. Before my mother passed away, she taught me how to apply the basics. It was what I just applied in addition to eye shadow. Although I don't wear it at school, I do know how to use it.

Once finished, I walked across the room to my chair where my baby blue dress laid perfectly. I put it on and grabbed my matching color coat from the closet. I still couldn't believe how the weather went from chilly to extremely cold but it didn't seem to bother me.

Before I left the room, I walked to my vanity again to pick up my bracelet and slip it on. It belonged to my mother so I never took it off unless I was showering or sleeping. I walked out of my room and headed over to see if Adam needed assistance.

"Are you ready Adam?" I asked.

"Yes, I am!" he smiled while grabbing his brown coat which matched his brown pants.

We went downstairs only to be greeted by our stressed father.

"Is everything alright dad?" I questioned.

"School starts soon and it's a fifteen minute walk so breakfast is on the go today,  I'm sorry" father said.

I grabbed toast while Adam grabbed a biscuit and off to school we went. I was holding Adams school things along with mine in one hand and holding his hand with the other.

"I'm nervous Bri" (that was my nickname which my brother grew fond of)

"Everything is going to be alright. I think we are going to be late but why not make a grand entrance!" I exclaimed looking down at him.

"I don't know" he mumbled.

We walked a little more to then be greeted with two small, white, school houses. We headed over to the school house for the younger kids. Just as I was about to open the door, my hand was pulled back.

"Bri I don't want to go, I'm scared! What if they make fun of me?" Adam said while preparing to cry.

"No, no, no... don't cry" I said giving him a hug.

"You're going to do just fine! You're a handsome young man and I know by experience" he chuckled to that, which caused me to smile.

"And if anything ever happens you can come tell me and I'll handle it... promise?" I replied holding out my pinky finger which he gladly intertwined with his.

Right when he let go, we walked inside the small school house and all eyes went to us.

"Hello, can i help you?" the older teacher said. (maybe in his late 40s)

"Hello I'm Aubrey and this is my little brother Adam Michel. He's going to be attending school this year" I said as sweetly as possible.

"Perfect! I'm Mr.Smith. If you'd like you could go sit next to Elijah in the middle over there" he replied.

Adam shook his head as he was about to head over to his seat. I stopped him to give him his school things along with his lunch. In addition, I took his coat and hung it up before waving and leaving. He is a very nice teacher. Hopefully, mine is the same. I then walked into the the other school house for older kids.
