Proof read: Yes :)

When I entered, I tried to make a small amount of noise so I carefully opened the door and entered. I looked around the room until my eyes fell on this boy. He was very charming. He has nice, dark brown, curly hair which reminded me of the trees back in my old town. His eyes were brown and glowing ever so lightly. I could only see them because he was staring at the only redhead in the classroom. She was very stiff facing the teacher as he gave his lecture about who knows what. She knew she was being watched.

I was interrupted from my thoughts when the door made a very loud sound as it shut. Everyone's eyes turned towards me "Shit, here's my grand entrance"  I thought.

"Can I help you?" the teacher said in a rude tone.

I straighten my back and stood tall as I said "I'm truly sorry to interrupt but I'm actually new. My name's Aubrey West Michel."

"May I ask why you're... ten minutes late?" he questioned in annoyance as he looked at the clock above him.

What is up with his attitude?

"Well, I had some trouble on my way here with my brother who I had to drop off next door" I explained.

"It better not happen or there will be consequences. You can go sit in the back over there next to Prissy" he replied as he continued his lesson.

I turned around and removed my coat. I could feel most of the students eyes on me, it was very nerve racking. I walked to the seat and sat next to the girl who's name was Prissy, according to the teacher, who I didn't quite catch the name of. I turned over to Prissy and asked

"Excuse me, what is the teachers name?"

"Mr.Phillips" she said as quick as possible.

"Thank you" I muttered.

I turned my attention back to Mr. Phillips as he babbled about algebra equations. I surprisingly caught on quickly because they had talked about this in my old school. Oh how I miss my old school and friends. I shoved the sad thoughts in the back of my mind as i wrote down the equations on my small chalkboard.

After about one or two hours of Mr.Phillips lecture, we finally had lunch. I was about to walk outside when I was stopped by the redhead and another girl with dark brown, almost black hair.

"Hi, I'm Anne Shirley Cuthbert, with an E, and this is my best friend Diana Barry!" Anne said excitedly.

"Hello, I'm Aubrey West Michel" I replied with a smile.

"Do you want to have lunch with the rest of our friends?" Diana asked.

I replied with "Sure" as I Followed them to the corner of the classroom where the rest of the girls sat in a circle.

"This is Ruby Gillis, Josie Pye, Tillie Boulter, Jane Andrews, and of course, Prissy Andrews" Diana pointed at each girl as she said their names.

"Hi, I'm Aubrey. It's really nice to meet you" I said smiling.

"We know" Josie mumbled.

I looked at her with a confused expression even though I heard her "Excuse me?"

"I said we know, as in, we know your name" Josie said harshly.

"Wow... okay. You don't have to be rude" and with that I grabbed my lunch, book, and went outside.

I sat under a tree and flipped the pages of my book, Romeo and Juliet. I was reading for what seemed like five minutes until the book was snatched out of my hands.

"Hey!" I screamed in anger.

"Hello to you too. I'm Billy Andrews, your dream boy" he said with a wink.

"Yeah right" I said as I tried to reach for the book which he held over his head.

"Give it back!" I exclaimed before someone snatched the book out of Billy's hand and gave it to me.

"Thank you..." I replied, waiting for his name.

"Gilbert... Gilbert Blythe"

"Thank you Gilbert" I said smiling.

We stood there just looking at each other. His eyes were beautiful and his smile was out of this world. I didn't want to look away but then realized we were being watched. I then turned my head to the side and noticed the girls looking at Gilbert and I. They all gave me shocked looks except for Josie. Josie was giving me a nasty look and Ruby was on the verge of tears.

I looked back at Gilbert before excusing myself and walking back inside.

"You're not aloud to talk to him or even look at him" Josie remarked as she waved her hands in my face.

"Why's that?" I questioned, clearly annoyed.

"Because Ruby has had dibs on him for three years" Josie replied.

"Dibs? That's pathetic! I'm sorry Ruby but I think I'm aloud to talk to whoever I want. Plus, I don't like him so you shouldn't have to worry" with that I walked back to my seat.

                                                                ~Time skip to after school~

I grabbed my belongings and walked over to the other schoolhouse to wait for Adam.

"Aubrey?"

I turned around to be met with none other than Gilbert Blythe.

"Gilbert?" I said in a mocking tone.

He chuckled then said "I'm sorry about billy."

"It's ok, even though he should apologize himself..." I was about to continue until Adam ran out of the schoolhouse screaming my name.

When he finally got to me, I crouched down to hug him.

"Hey Adam, how was your first day of school?" I asked.

"It was amazing! I made new friends. Everyone talked to me and the teacher gave me a sticker" he exclaimed as he showed me his gold star sticker.

I smiled at him and mumbled "Wish I could say the same..."

"Who's that?" Adam asked.

I looked up, then back at Adam and said "That's my friend. His name is Gilbert Blythe. Say Hi"

"Hi Gilbert" Adam said sweetly.

I took Adam's things along with mine and held his hand.

"Well, we should get going. See you tomorrow Gilbert" I said as Adam and I walked away.
