This days I've been really scared of my own shadow, that's what being a witness to crime can do to you. I was walking down the path with my school bag, it was a backpack that I used to put the book I borrowed from the library down the street when I decided to take a short cut home as it was already late, big mistake...

There was this really long alley that led close to my street but my parents always warned my siblings and I not to go down it, but I was honestly tired of going through the normal way home when I could simply walk through the alley. As I walk down the alley, it was too eerily quiet for my liking and I couldn't even see that much, I thought of going back but I really wanted to have my own experience of this so called forbidden alley - that's what my parents call it, the forbidden alley - I mentally scoff at how dramatic they are. There wasn't even anyone here and it didn't even seem so bad, I'm pretty sure my brother must have gone through here before but I doubt it, he always listened to our parents and I was more of the rebel. That's when I had something crashing and a grunt.. It sounded like it was close to me, I turned and looked at where i came from, thinking I should really go back but then I heard a scream and then laughter.... Curiosity took the best of me and I walked further, hiding myself in the dark... I found a dumpster close to the figures I was barely seeing and hid there, they wouldn't catch me for sure.

"Please, wait... I'll do anything". A voice said weakly, trying to stand up but got pushed back down by one of the two men there, it was a woman.

The same man that pushed her down squatted and I was about to come out to help when I saw a glint of metal that he brought out, he brought a gun out. I held back the gasp I had as I watched him caress the woman's body with the gun, she shivered in terror at his touch, then whimpered.

"I'm telling you, I'd never snitch any of y'all to the pigs, you know it too". Huh?, did I hear her right, pigs?. "Please...You can't throw what we had because of this and kill me". I guess they must have had a relationship, I sigh in relief, he won't kill her then.

"Well then how else did the cops get to us then?". The other guy says and it clicked, pigs, cops, okayyy.

"Who cares" the man with the gun says then stands. "The thing is, I never cared about you, I only cared about your skills... They'll definitely be the only thing I'll miss about you". He says raising the gun. The woman shakes her head and starts to plead, I didn't even comprehend anything... All I know was that I heard a loud bang, the blood splattering and the woman's body falling limp on the floor, he shot her on the head, without a care...

"I didn't think you'd kill Patricia". The other man says as he switches on a torch light and shines it on her dead body, dead body!. I looked at both the men's face and that's when I made my second big mistake, I let out a sound that I didn't know if it was a shriek or a scream and start to walk back quietly only to step on a trash cans cover, I gasped as the sound echoed through the alley.

"Tyson". I heard the murders friend call, they nod their head and start walking slowly towards where I was. I wasn't even sure if they could see me yet but I didn't stay to check as my instincts told me to run, I took off trying to make sure my steps weren't heard but my efforts were futile as I heard them running after me.. I was almost at the end of the alley when someone grabs my backpack pulling me towards, the zip tore open.

I turned quickly and sent a kick that surprisingly made my capture fall and I took off once again - removing my backpack to hold instead - and not looking back at all till I was close to my street. I hid behind a wall to make sure I wasn't followed then I calmed myself and went straight into my home.
