"well john where are we going?" you sighed as he held the door open for you as you both walked out to see mark playing basketball and it started snowing. "hey guys!" mark waved after retrieving his basketball. "Elizabeth your a tall girl, ever played?" he asked you with a smile. how adorable. "yeah actually i played softball too, i used to coach a high school team when i lived in texas." you told him standing next to John. "oh wow you're from texas ?" john asked in shock. "there's a place over here we can go." he suggested. "that's fine with me." you told him. geez i'm working with like three hot guys and now i'm getting dinner with one of them. stop talking about that! you know if drake were to find out he'd kill you! (drake is Elizabeth's abusive, crazy ex boyfriend. You moved to chicago to get away from him but you also left your family.) John took you to a booth where you both sat in front of each other. "what would you like?" the waitress asked. "just a coffee please." you said politely as you looked out the window as john Ordered. "Zoned out?" "huh what oh yeah" you said as you rubbed your eyes. John laughed at you. "well tell me about yourself john." "please just call me carter." he pleaded. "Well as you know i'm john carter, umm there's really not much to know about me really." he said looking at you. "well then i'll start! As you know i'm Elizabeth Rangel. i am a middle child, in between two boys." you sighed. he began to ask you how things were in texas. just simple questions about life and things like that. then came to the one question you knew he would ask. "Well Elizabeth..are you single?" he asked you as he rubbed his neck nervously. "yes i am actually." "actually?" he questioned. "i just got out of a abusive relationship.." you said quietly. "Oh i'm so sorry, i shouldn't have asked." you laughed at his comment. "it's absolutely fine trust me" he sighed in relief and you two continued the conversation getting to know each other more and more. "well it's pretty late john i should get going." "yeah same here i'll walk you out." he told you. you two walked outside to see the snow slowly coming down still. "do you have work tomorrow?" he asked you. " 7 in the morning" you sighed. "i'll see you soon pretty lady." he winked at you and began to walk away.
