Ethan is a little over six feet tall. Odette barely reaches five foot four. Anthony is an inch or so smaller than Odette. When Ethan realizes who the short, unattractive man is, he starts to mentally debate whether or not he will attack him. Odette lays a soothing hand on Ethan's chest.
"You won't win if you fight him Ethan." Odette whispers, He thinks she must have read his mind but actually his body language was blatant.
"I can take him." Ethan asserts.
"He may not look like much, but he is cruel. He gets off on hurting others. The desire to.inflict pain fuels him, you aren't like that. You think you want to hurt him only because you think he deserves it. Beating him to a bloody pulp won't please you like hurting you will please him. You'd hate yourself after, be eaten alive with remorse. He isn't worth it." She argues.
Ethan listens, she's probably right and if she isn't, he doesn't want to show her that there is anything inside of him that is even slightly similar to what comprises Anthony. Anthony the ex with the moniker "The monster."
Ethan isn't a monster. Refuses to become one. He just plays a monster on tv.
