Maddison's POV

What the fuck do I do now?

Trash the apartment like in the movies? Wait no, that's a bad idea since this isn't my place...

I let out an annoyed scream and stomp my feet like a child. This situation was all my fault and there was no denying it, but I still wanted to blame it on someone else, like always. It was always easier when you blamed it on somebody else wasn't it?

Deciding there is nothing else I can do to fix the situation, I sit down on the couch and kick my heels off. In the process of taking the second heel off, just out of rage, I throw it with all my might straight in front of me.

"Ow!" Xavier cries out, rubbing his arm, "What the hell was that for?!"

I wince "Sorry, I didn't mean to hit you."

He looks strangely at me and crosses his arms over his chest "Dude, seriously, what's wrong now?"

I sight "It's Marshall, I fucked up big time."

"Again?" Xavier questions rolling his eyes.

"Thanks for the support" I grumble.

Xavier shakes his head "Okay that's it! I've had enough! I am tired of seeing you slump around, all depressed, and mostly, I'm tired of not being able to get laid because you are sleeping in my living room!"

I stare at him in surprise, he had never spoken to me like this before. He stomps over to me and grabs my arm, pulling me up.

"We are gonna fix this, so that you and I can finally get laid." Xavier declares, picking up my heels from the floor and dragging me out the door.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

"I am not doing it." I state, backing away.

Xavier glares at me "Fine, if you won't then I sure as hell will."

I thought he was bluffing until he pressed the doorbell and started sprinting down the street, leaving me standing like a dumbass in from of the door, not knowing what to do.

I start turning around, deciding that I would not be able to run in this heels, but I sure as hell could speed walk.

As soon as I raise my leg to take my first step, the door opens and I freeze, leg in the air. Slowly I turn my head towards the door and my eyes lock with Marshall's.

The street is almost empty, and the only noise is the distant horn of cars. I put my leg back down, clear my throat awkwardly and readjust my dress, not knowing what to do or say.

"Maddie?" Marshall asks, almost as if he doesn't believe I'm standing in front of him.

"That would be my nickname, indeed." I reply, and immediately I want to kick myself.

He chuckles, shaking his head, before taking a step back inside his house. My heart breaks, and I look away, thinking he's about to close the door.

"Well are you gonna come in or not?" He asks, amusement clear in his voice.

I whip my head back in his direction, and quickly start walking towards him, stumbling a bit. I walk past him and look around, the familiar scenery feeling like home.

"So what brings you here?" Marshall questions, his arms crossed over his chest.

Biting my lip, I try to find the words that could explain this situation, but somehow, nothing made sense. I can't find a single thing to say, and I don't even know if I want this to work out.

Maybe I want to let everything go?

Maybe we weren't meant to be after all?

A knock on the window makes us both look at it. Xavier is standing there, along with Hailie, a big piece of paper written on it: "Just go for it already!"

I scowl at both of them before giving them my back and passing my hand through my hair, the words still not coming to me.

"You've always had trouble with words." Marshall says, looking serious all of the sudden.

I shrug and look everywhere except at him. I can't do this, I'm a coward and the only thing I could actually do right now is run far, far away.

Clearing my throat, I gather all the courage I do not have, and I look into his eyes.

"I only have myself to blame, but do you think we can start again? Cause I can't live without you." I softly sing, careful to not mess up a note.

The silence engulfs us once again, before another knock on the window catches our attention.

Hailie is holding another poster: "Just kiss her!"

Marshall laughs, scratches his neck awkwardly before turning to face me.

"Can I?" He whispers.

I can't do anything but nod.

And he kissed me.

Hello there!

Short update I know, but the book is sadly coming close to ending, I'm probably gonna add two more chapters, one of them being the Epilogue.

BUT

If you want more chapters, what I want to propose is you guys give me a passage of the previous chapters in Eminem's POV, then I shall write them.
