Chapter 13

He ran out the door leaving me standing with confused emotions in the janitor's closet. I slowly walked out of the closet and stood in the middle of the hallway watching his retreating figure . I touched my lips still feeling his on mine . I can't believe that I kissed him . I made the move . How could I be so stupid ? A sob wrecked through my body . I scrambled to the nurse's office .

My phone chimed in my back pocket , I looked at the caller ID and answered with a raspy voice .

"Where the fuck are you?" He yelled into my soul . "Teacher just marked you absent!"

"God, I didn't know , Captain obvious." I deadpanned. "I'm on my way to the nurse's office and Benedict , you don't need to come with."

"After this period , I'm coming to get you . No buts" He demanded . I didn't put up an fight . I walked into the nurse's office and explained how I was having a massive headache. She told me to get some rest and gave me painkillers . I gladly laid on the bed in the corner of her bed .

I closed my eyes as the events of today poured into my mind all over again . I downright cheated on my boyfriend . I kissed another boy . The one who taunted me . I wasn't the only cheater there . He cheated on that girl from McDonald's. I need to talk this out with him and Lance . Lance , I'm so sorry ........... And I drifted off to sleep.

I felt a hand on mine as I laid on the bed . I secretly hoped it would be Lance but it was my brother . I smiled at him as I opened my eyes and tried to sit up .

"Where's Lance?" I asked .

"He couldn't make it." Mae spoke up behind my brother . I reached out to grab her . She hugged me back .

"Why can't he make it? Isn't it lunch time ?" I asked again . They shrugged . I knew something was up with him .

I asked the nurse if I could go and she allowed me . I stepped out of the office with my best friend by my hand and walked to my locker to get my notes for the next class. I decided to tell her everything.

"Mae, I know I have been distant with you and I think I'm ready to tell you why ." I said to her and she nodded .

"I'm coming over to your house to see your brother today . I'll tell you when I come over . I might even sleep over ."

She smiled at the news , then someone came in my sight of view and my entire facade faded. He had his hood on . Then I realized why he always had it on . He is damn beautiful . His eyes are so mesmerizing and enticing . His head was angled towards me as we stared at each other across the hall . As if feeling the sexual tension between us , Mae pulled me into the cafeteria. I didn't really have an appetite. I let Mae pick my food and I only ingested the orange juice . I kept on glancing at the cafeteria door waiting for Lance to walk in . He never did .

I decided to text him .

"Babe , where you at?" I sent

He replied almost immediately.

"Busy."

I sighed . He didn't still tell me where he was . I didn't want to seem like the pushy kind of girlfriend . I wanted to give him space but at the same time I wanted to be with him . Sigh.

I ended up conversing with Mae about wacky stuff at least that brought my mind away from my drowning thoughts . Sooner than I expected , recess was over . I got up and walked out of the cafeteria with Mae to our next class . And unfortunately, it seems like I had most of my classes with jerk face now .

I sat at my usual seat and as expected I felt a staring gaze at my head . I was still expecting Lance . He walked in staring at his phone . I decide to send him a text .
