Harrys body ached. Vernon had outdone himself that night with his last beating. That night at 12:00 am, Harry was free. Free to make his own decisions. Free from the Dursley's. Free from the nightly beatings.
In his cupboard, Harry cast tempus. The spell showed that it was 11:59, a minute before his birthday, a minute before he was allowed out of this abusive household. The spell changed to 12:00 & he felt a pain worse that anything he had ever felt before & that was saying a lot. No matter what he told himself, I'm not gonna scream. He blacked out.
