"Don't be stupid Ivory, he's just some random guy and you're a Detective. He probably needs to walk this way to get home...this is a rougher area and he does look like a local here", she thought to herself after a good ten minute walk still had not shaken him off her trail.
The man was mumbling on his phone still, his footsteps heavier and more precise as Ivory upped her speed in an attempt to see if he really was following her, but when he did not back down and she passed through the roughest, most dimly lit alley way in the city, she gave in to her fear and began to run.
She felt almost silly for doing so, and for a moment she thought she was being a fool; until she heard heavy, rushed footsteps and hard breathing catching up to her; almost making her soul split from her skin.
She felt a feverish sweat begin to claim her body and tears pour down her face as her vision clouded and she pushed her legs to go faster, not paying attention to where she was going until she bumped in to someone in front of her, hearing a phone clatter to the floor, followed by a shocked gasp and then an annoyed sigh.
"I-I'm so sorry, I-", she suddenly stopped mumbling her rushed apology, her eyes growing wide as Kira glared at her, bending down to pick up her now shattered phone and then facing away from the brunette as though she didn't exist, resuming her conversation.
Ivory quickly turned around, hearing the creep approaching. She saw him looking eager to catch her, but then he came to a sudden halt, looking shocked and annoyed at the fact Ivory was now outside a crowded late night cafe. He spoke down his phone and then nodded, running off in to the darkness of the nearby alleyway.
"That creep's getting away!", gasped Ivory, holding either side of her face in mortification. "I have to catch him!".
"Ahem- do you mind telling me exactly what you were doing just no-", began Kira, but Ivory had already taken off in a full sprint.
"Thanks for the apology! It was really something!", she yelled after the brunette, who didn't so much as glance back at her. "Great, now I need to find somewhere to fix my phone screen", she sighed in annoyance. "In fact, she can give me an explanation as to why she was running around to cause this mess in the first place!", she spat, chasing after Ivory.
The man ran like a bolt of lightening as Ivory chased hot on his tail. He needed to lose her and he needed to do it fast. He peered in to a nearby scrap yard. Sure, it wasn't the best place to go, and it could be guarded by a vicious dog, but he had to chance it; and so he entered through the big, rusty, metal gates; his eyes darting around for a temporary hiding spot.
He feverishly looked around. There were tons of abandoned cars, but he couldn't chance running to one for cover, only for it to be locked. He gasped, hearing heavy panting and slowing footsteps approaching.
"Man I gotta hide from that psycho!", he blurted out, feeling his heart pounding in his ears. He backed up, bumping in to something cold and hard. "Aw yes! That storage container will do nicely!", he cheered, climbing inside and holding his breath as he heard the woman pushing through the junk piles of scrap metal.
"Get back here you creep! I'm warning you, I am a Detective!", screamed Ivory. She had finally lost it. "How dare you think it's ok to chase a young woman down the street in hopes of doing God knows what! Because if I catch you I will put you in the slammer so fast, you'll wish you were never born!!".
