Upon Midnight

Chapter 1

"Shot na Uno." Pag alok ni Gab. Bukas na ang first day of school, nagiinuman pa rin tong mga ugok na to.

"I'll pass Gabriel." Pagtanggi ko. Ayoko pumasok ng masakit ang ulo sa first day ng pasukan. Mahina pa naman ang alcohol tolerance ko.

"Sige na Uno isang shot lang naman eh." Pagpupumilit ni Neil. Sigh. Why are my friends like this? Alam naman nilang hindi ko sila matatanggihan pareho eh.

I drank a shot. And another. And another. And another. Ito na nga ba ang sinasabi ko eh. Ang isang shot na napunta sa isa pa at napunta sa isa pa. Sumasakit na ang ulo ko argh. I should've kept on rejecting their offers but whatever. Nangyari na eh.

I turned to them only to see both of them passed out, wasted as fuck. I only drank a few shots but them, they drank a few bottles. Ginawa nilang tubig ang alak. Mga walang hiyang to. Saakin pa balak magpaasikaso.

I reached for their phones. Buti nalang alam ko ang password ng mga phone nila. I browsed through their contacts and called their respective drivers. Buti nalang at may drivers kayo kung hindi ay iiwan ko kayo ditong nakabulagta.

I waited for their drivers to arrive. Alangan naman iwan ko tong mga mokong na to habang knocked out diba. Pagdating nila ay agad ko namang ipinaubaya ang kapakanan nila.

Masakit na ang ulo ko kaya nagdesisyon akong umuwi na. Papunta na ako sa labasan ng mabunggo ko ang isang lalaki. Nahulog ang susi ng kotse ko kaya pinilit ko itong pulutin.

"Bulag ka ba? Hindi mo ba nakita na may tao dito? Istorbo to sa moment ko ah." Sigaw nung nabangga kong lalaki.

"I'm sorry, hindi kita nakita. Masakit ang ulo ko so if you'll excuse me." Magalang kong tugon.

"Ang bastos mo ah! Sumasagot ka pa ikaw na nga tong may atraso sakin!" Sigaw niya ulit. I'm getting annoyed with his shouts.

"Look, it's not even my fault that you're in the way. Hindi ka naman dapat nandito ah. Daanan to ng tao and if you're blocking it, it's not my fault if you get bumped on!" I replied.

"Walang hiya ka!" Sumuntok siya saakin but I was fast enough to dodge it. I retaliated with a punch and it made him sleep. It wasn't even that strong but he's kinda tipsy so he fell asleep.

"Uhm, thank you po sa pagtulong saakin." Someone said.

I looked around to find where the voice came from. It came from behind me. There was a girl that looks scared. I didn't even notice her there until she spoke.

"Who the hell are you?" I said. I was irritated so I couldn't mind my language anymore. I looked at my phone and to my surprise, it was already midnight.

"That man was harassing me po kanina. Pinipilit niya na kunin daw yung number ko tapos sumama daw ako sa kanya." The girl replied.

"I didn't save you. I just defended myself. Heck I didn't even notice you until you said a word!" I said. Totoo naman. Hindi ko naman siya niligtas dahil simula pa lang, hindi ko naman slam na nandiyan siya.

"Oo pero dahil dun, naligtas pa din ako kaya salamat." Sabi nya.

"Yeah yeah, whatever. You're welcome nalang." Sagot ko at mabilis na umalis. Iniwan ko na siya doon at wala na akong lakas para makipagtalo pa.

I took my keys and went to my car. I can still drive but my head aches like hell. Mabuti nalang hindi masyadong malayo itong pinuntahan namin na bar. I drove straight to my condo and went to sleep.

I woke up early and thank God my head doesn't hurt anymore. I went to the kitchen and fried some eggs and bacon for breakfast. Paubos na din pala ang stock ko ng eggs. I guess I'll buy some later.
