It was the summer, that six friends made a promise to each other. It was something that would carry on for the rest of their life's and maybe to their kids. And it all started with fireflies.

"Come on, Alice." FP said. She turned around and saw him jogging down the trail that led into the woods. She followed quickly behind him and got to the lake.

It was a beautiful and clean lake, flowers surrounding the whole place. The whole place was covered with the color of a bright green yellow. She turned and saw all her friends standing in the grass looking at the sky. She walked over to them and looked at the sky, seeing the stars and the fireflies all around. Hermione grabbed her hand and smiled.

"Promise me something." Alice said keeping her eyes on the sky. Everyone looked to her, seeing her face light with the colors all around them. She moved her eyes to everyone.

"That every week we come back to this place. At the same time and same night, just to watch everything here." Alice looked at everyone. They all nodded their heads.

"And when we turn 50 we make this place special and bring our kids." Fred smiled looking around the place, causing everyone to laugh.

"Come on let's go catch them." Sierra said dragging Tom's hand. Alice walked over to a small tree and ran her fingers along it. She pulled out her small switchblade and put her initials on the tree.

"What are you doing?" She turned and saw FP and Hermione.

"She's making more memories." Hermione whispered.

All teenagers put their initials on the tree. Sure they were thirteen, but didn't mean they wouldn't come here every week on the same day, same time. Even in the winter it was beautiful, course the fireflies wouldn't be out, but it was still beautiful. Alice turned towards FP giving him a small.

"You know you'll always be my little firefly, right?" He asked looking at her. She nodded her head looking at him.

"Don't freak out." She said causing him to turn his full attention to her. She placed her hands on his shoulder's and kissed him on the lips. She moved away and gave him a small smile.

"That'll be with our memories here." She said softly. He looked at her in awe, knowing there will be many more days.

30 Years Later

"Mom, I'm going to Pop's with Jughead." Betty yelled to her mother. Alice was in the kitchen cleaning.

"Bye honey. I love you." She yelled, but the door shut already. She sighed wishing life was easier like it was when she was younger.

When she first met FP, she made friend's, when they all found that lake together from just playing tag And then it hit her. That little spot they would meet every year was still here. She hasn't gone to that place since graduation. With FP leaving for the army, Hermione moving to New York, Fred stayed in Riverdale, Tom leaving for the army as well, and Sierra moving out of Riverdale for a little while, but coming back, nobody really kept in touch after that. With tomorrow being the day everyone would meet, she decided to contact everyone.

Alice was sitting at the park bench, wearing jeans, and a snack print shirt. She heard a couple of footsteps behind her. She turned and saw the people she thought wouldn't come.

"Why did you bring us here, Alice?" Sierra asked. Alice sighed standing up.

"Cause this is our place. The place we found when we were seven. We all have special memories here before everyone went our own ways." She met FP's eyes.

Alice had divorced Hal after he went to prison. It was hard for her for a month, but she had gotten over it and showed everyone that she was a strong and confident person. And she was that.

"We made a promise a long time ago that we could come here at this day, every week, every month every year." Everyone only looked at her. The fireflies flying everywhere, the bright green color showing on everyone's face's. "Let's keep this promise and something that we can remember about this town."

FP walked away from the group over to Alice, he quickly pushed his lips against hers. She freaked out for a second, but kissed him back. He moved his hand to her waist, while her hands went to the back of his neck. He smiled into the kiss missing her soft lips against his.

"Alright lover birds." Hermione said, getting them to both stop kissing each other. They had their arms still wrapped around each other, but looked to the group. Everyone smiled seeing them both. FP looked into her eyes.

"You'll always be my little firefly." He whispered into her ear.

That night was filled with music and watching the fireflies, with the stars shinning brighter than before. Alice softly ran her fingers along the initials of everyone on the tree.

Now that everyone was 50, and they had kept their promise's all along. They brought their children here and had party's. Alice and FP were happily married with their lost long son, Charles, watching them dance. Betty and Jughead were holding Juliet their little baby girl. Every family was there, even the Blossom's. It was definitely a night to remember for everyone.

Alice was sitting in the hospital bed, a book in her hands as she was reading it. Her glasses sitting on her nose. She heard a soft knock on her door. She looked up and saw FP walk in. His coat on his shoulder's.

Alice had been bating cancer for a couple of months now, the doctors said she might not live for two months, maybe less. She had gotten it the night after the party and felt like her life was falling downhill. FP visited her everyday, except for special days, except for today. He brought her a small little gift.

"Thought you were going to the lake today?" She asked setting her book on her lap. He sat down next to her and handed her a small little jar. She looked and saw a little firefly inside the jar.

"You'll always be my firefly." He said grabbing her hand. She looked from the jar over to him. Her blonde hair resting on her shoulder's. Her eyes then shut and the beeping sound started. Nurse's quickly ran into the room moving him out of their way. The sound of the jar slipping from her fingers onto the ground was the sound he wished he didn't hear.

FP stood by the grave looking down at it. 'Alice Susanna Jones. Beloved mother, beloved wife, beloved friend.' FP could feel the tears ready to slip from his eyes. He bent down and put a small little jar next to her grave. He stood back up and looked at the grave. 'Loved by all, but a firefly to FP.'

"You'll always be my little firefly, Alice." He looked the grave. It was a year since her death, but he promised to always go and see her on the special day. "Don't worry, Alice. I'll be there someday."
