Finally leaving my 7 and a half hour surgery, Maggie is waiting for me outside the scrub room.
"You did amazing Mer, you headed home?"
"Thank you, and yes I'm going to check on Amelia." I say sighing.
She's starting to spiral out again because of Derek and she needs help. I want to be her sister in this is be there for her whenever she needs me.
It's only been a little more than 4 months but she's spent her whole life with him, I can see why she's so hurt and damaged.
Addison has been here several times and honestly, I can't say I hate it. Addison is quite gorgeous. She's also an amazing friend to Amelia and I'm very thankful to have her here.
Before I start up my car, I send Amelia a text to say that I'm on the way home.
Normally she texts back within minutes even if it's just a simple "K" now was when I started to panic.
I got home as soon as I could without going over the speed limit. Thankfully, Addison's car was in the driveway and I could see her on the porch with a glass of lemonade in her hand.
She looked absolutely stunning. It was about 6 in the afternoon but the sun was setting and she looked absolutely stunning.
"Hey Addison!" I say.
"Good evening Mer, how was your surgery?" She asks standing up.
"Everything went smooth, you don't have to get up but is Amelia alright? She didn't answer my text."
"She's sleeping right now, you sit down and let me make you a plate, Amelia and I made dinner." She says smiling. I can't resist her now because I was actually quite tired.
The 2 of us headed inside and I sat down on the couch.
"I'll have your food ready in a second, would you like anything to drink?" She asks.
"Just water." I hated making her do everything for me in my house but honestly I wasn't up for the fight and I normally never let people help me. Addison is different, Addison feels different.
She comes back a few moments later with a tall glass of water in her hands, she sets it on the table in front and me and stands up behind me.
Her hands slowly massaged my shoulders and I struggled to hold in a moan. It felt absolutely heavenly after a long surgery.
"Hey where'd you go? I was enjoying that." I say low.
"To get your food Mer." She laughs lightly to herself. God that laugh.
The feeling of pleasure was soon replaced with guilt. I felt an astronomical amount of guilt because Derek just died. I know he would want me to be happy but maybe not happy with his ex-wife.
Really it shouldn't matter who I'm happy with, Derek knows about the girls I used to hook up with even though I never labeled myself as bisexual.
Addison came back a few minutes later with a bowl of pasta with tomato sauce.
"So how'd you get Amelia to cook?" I ask before taking a bite and moaning in pleasure.
"Actually, she suggested that we celebrate your first big surgery after Derek so we made you dinner, we were supposed to make cookies but she kinda fell asleep."
"This is really good Addison."
"Thank you, I'm sorry if I didn't ask but how do you feel besides well tired?" She asks turning to face me.
"Honestly sore, I forgot what it was like to stand still for almost 8 hours." I say before setting my bowl down.
"Give me your feet." Addison demands.
"What?"
"You heard me woman, let me massage your feet, it always help me after a long surgery."
"I'm not letting you do this Addison, you've already done more than enough for-" Before I could finish she pulled my legs into her lap and took my shoes off.
"I can make you feel better Meredith." She say low and husky.
I couldn't even lie to myself, it felt incredible and my feet have been killing me ever since my surgery.
Addison's hands really do work in magical ways.
Coming home to this after every surgery day was something I could definitely get used to. She made me feel at peace and really just home.
Is it possible I could feel at home with more than one person?
I truly do hope so because as wrong as I kept trying to tell myself it was, the more right it felt.
"I didn't bore you to sleep did I?" She chuckles to herself.
"Of course not, nothing about this right here is boring." I reassure before briefly opening my eyes and seeing her smile at me.
She kept going until I felt her run a hand up my leg. As bad as I felt about this happening, I've been craving some sort of physical contact for months now.
I couldn't even think straight right now.
"I think I'm falling in love with you Mer." She whispers.
"I'm falling in love with you as well Addison, but it just doesn't feel right." I admit.
"Sometimes with love, it won't feel right at first, but the heart wants what it wants." Addison comes closer to me and leans in to kiss me.
Her lips were soft and sweet. Before we could go any further, I hear Amelia come down the stairs and I pull away.
