Wynter's P.O.V.
I waited with the pack until Wyatt came back and my thoughts were still focused on that girl from before. Not the white haired one, but the one with the light brown hair.
I felt drawn to her and when the white-haired girl said her name, I instantly knew who she was. She was my mate and her name was Athena Wells. I was beyond excited and I feel that she is one of us judging by the white streak in her hair.
"She had the most beautiful brown eyes, almost a chocolate color. Her hair was the lightest shade of brown with a white streak and her complexion was flawless and beautiful. She's even more beautiful than I imagined." I spoke to a packmate named Wendy.
"Good for you, Wynter." she replied.
Willa came over and I felt a bit nervous, since she wasn't keen on outsiders.
"Too much? I'm sorry, Willa, I just want to meet her so badly. I've been alone for a long time and I have always wanted to meet my soulmate. I think she's one of us because of her streak and-" I asked.
She placed a hand over my mouth and shushed me.
"Wynter, calm down."
She pried her hand off and pulled me aside.
"Listen, I know I'm not okay with outsiders interfering with us, but you're more than a pack mate. You're a very close friend. If you want to have your mate, then you can. I just want you to be happy. Just don't forget we have to find the moonstone." she explained.
"What if she's one of us?" I asked.
"I don't think she is. Don't get your hopes of her being a werewolf. Maybe she's a human." Willa replied.
My eyes lit up. "Would you...want to meet her?"
She shrugged. "I don't know about that yet, Wynter. Only time will tell."
I sighed and nodded, but I still had my doubts about my mate being human.
Willa's head perked up before looking at us. "He's back! Wolves!"
We all exited the den as Wyatt took off the uniform we dressed him in. I stood next to Willa as one packmate gave him his moonstone and Wesley re-painted his beta markings.
Once Wyatt was done, he turned to Willa and snarled.
"What did you find out?" she asked.
"They saw you howling, Willa." I replied.
She furrowed her eyebrows. "So?"
He held up a poster that said "Were-Friend Wanted!" and I rolled my eyes. Looks nothing like us. "We're exposed."
Willa let out a laugh as she took it from his hand. "Looks nothing like us, Wyatt. We have way better hair than that."
"Stop being such a worry-wolf, brother. I only said 'Awooo'. It's like saying 'Ciao'. Or 'Aloha'. Or 'I'll rip your throat out.' Anyway, who cares what they think? It's a terrible town." she finished.
"We have to find the Great Alpha." Wyatt reminded her.
"If there even is a Great Alpha." she argued.
"Willa! We saw her in the forest. She had the white hair!" he argued back, referring to the girl who was beside my mate.
"Probably just the light!" she added.
"She's real. And she's going to lead us to the moonstone. And you know we don't have much time. More and more of our pack are getting sick. Our necklaces are almost out of power. We need to find the moonstone." I explained.
"And when we do, we can recharge our necklaces and stay wolf strong for another 100 years." I said dreamily. 'And I can claim Athena as mine.'
Other wolves murmured in agreement.
"Okay. even if the girl is the Great Alpha, how do we find her?" Willa asked her brother.
He held up a patch that said 'Seabrook High Cheer'.
"I found this in the woods. It's hers."
I gasped excitedly. "We'll track her down with our keen sense of smell."
"It says Seabrook High on it. So, I thought we might just look there." he suggested.
Willa groaned before giving in.
"Okay, fine. We find the girl and if she's the Great Alpha, she'll tell us where the moonstone is hidden." she explained.
"We go in the morning!" Wyatt said.
"We go tonight!" Willa shouted.
"Or tonight works." he agreed, knowing he couldn't argue with her.
Me and the pack howled before Willa and Wyatt joined in.
Once it nightfall came, we decided it was time to go to Seabrook so we can find The Great Alpha.
Willa: No one's catching me unless I wanna be caught
I'm dancing in the shadows, ain't no leash when I walk
It's great to feel invincible, it's great to feel alive
My appetite's insatiable, there's nowhere it can hide
Our freedom isn't up to them, it's only up to us (us)
I'm the Alpha, I'm the leader, I'm the one to trust (trust)
Together we do whatever it takes, we're in this pack for life (awoo)
We're wolves, we own the nightAll: Oh, we own what we own, oh, we own the night
Oh, we own what we own, we own the night!
The only thing that is worse than our bark's our bite
Oh, we own what we own, we own the night!Wyatt: I'm picking up the scent, it seems we're on the right track (track)
The moonlight's on the rooftops, the wind is at our backs (backs)
We're living in the shadows, we're living for the chase (chase)
Our legacy is in our sights, so let's pick up the pace
We're on a quest to find the power that's inside of us (us)
She's the Alpha, she's the leader, she's the one to trust (trust)
Together we do whatever it takes, we're in this pack for life (awoo)All: We're wolves, we own the night
Oh, we own what we own, oh, we own the night
Oh, we own what we own, we own the night!
The only thing that is worse than our bark's our bite
Oh, we own what we own, we own the night!Willa: We own what we own
The night is our home
We own what we own (wolves, awoo)All: We own the night
Oh, we own what we own, oh, we own the night
Oh, we own what we own, we own the night!
The only thing that is worse than our bark's our bite
Oh, we own what we own, we own the night!Once we were done singing and dancing, we made our way to the air vent that was there.
"We'll hide here, find the girl, get our moonstone, and leave this awful place." Was the last thing I heard Willa say as I got inside the air vent.
Once Wyatt and Willa got in, he closed the vent and we all got comfortable for the night. I went to sleep, my thoughts on Athena. I couldn't wait until I had her with me. She's mine and mine alone.
