I've been hanging out with my friends a lot more than I have in the past. Perhaps to take my mind off the fact that I may have some weird connection to Max. Tonight? I got blown off by both Rachel and Chloe. Victoria was on a date with some girl from another school down the road and Hayden was MIA... I decided to go on a drive, get something to eat and just chill out for awhile.

I was sitting in the diner, flicking tapping through my social medias until I came across a post made by Rachel. It was her, Chloe, Warren, Kate, and.. Max. They looked like they were having fun. I just liked the post and went on with my scrolling. I had talked to Rachel about Max since she was kind of friends with her? I just wanted to know more about her but I guess Rachel got the wrong idea because she got that weird devious grin on her face when I mentioned Max. I paid for my coffee and left, I sat in my car for a bit before driving back to school.

I saw a figure walking on the side of the road, she looked very familiar. I decided to slow down and roll down my window to get a better look "Max?" I asked, watching the girl slow down and look at my car. I put it in park "Nathan?" she asked, something stirred inside of me when she said my name but I ignored it. I cleared my throat and responded "yeah, you look fucking dead- get in, I'll bring you home." I drummed my fingers against the red paint outside of my car "uh..." I interrupted her, I was getting irritated "hurry up before I change my damn mind!" she nodded and got into my car, fastening her seatbelt. I rolled up my window and started driving, I focused on the road but I had this itching request digging at the back of my head "I just wanted to talk and I had a feeling this was the only way how." I could feel her eyes on me and it made me shiver in my seat, I usually welcome attention but this kind was... different.. "I'm here, so lets talk." She said in the softest tone I had ever heard come from her and it made that stirring feeling come right back like a rush ".. do you by any chance like sunflowers?" I responded in hopefully not a whisper but it certainly felt like a whisper. "I'm sorry what? I guess they're alright." It felt like I was being examined and I did not like it.. "right.." was all I responded with. I gripped the armrest with all of my might to avoid reaching over to grab her hand. "what is it?" I heard her ask over my loud thoughts "do you believe in precognitive dreams?" God that must have sounded so weird but I just needed to know "I believe in the possibility but I don't think I could ever have one." She had a point, I really didn't believe that they existed but I just needed to look up the meaning of those dreams and I could not for the life of me find one, so I turned toward that. I pulled into the parking lot and into my space in the lot. I cut the engine and got out, stretching my legs.I walked over to her side and opened the door for her "I'll walk you to the dormitory so the security officer doesn't mess with you."  I watched her get out, the way her hair swept over her face and how she tucked it behind her ear, the warm glow her eyes had... I'm losing my shit.. "thanks, but I can handle myself.,." She rubbed her arms and walked down the path to the dorms, I fell in step with her "just to play it safe." I told her, shoving my hands into my pockets.

We made it to the dorms and we just stood there awkwardly, waiting for one another to say bye or just to walk away. She was staring so I made eye contact with her. She chuckled "so.. uh.. I'll see you around, Nathan.." She was backing away from me toward the door. I shook out of my trance and nodded ".. yeah." I turned on my heel and walked toward the boys dormitory.

I walked into my room and dropped my jacket on the floor, kicking off my shoes in the process. I sat on my bed and looked at the wall, searching for answers and hoping it would give me some. It didn't. Thank god it was the weekend and I could just relax and not have to worry about assignments, I didn't have to leave my room to see her .. I laid back before my phone buzzed and I groaned like I was dying of the plague. I picked it up and stared at the message from Victoria 'Spring Fling May 8th!" Was all she put. Christ, Victoria its only April 21st.. I set my phone down on its screen and closed my eyes, I was thinking about how Max looked in my car and at the dormitory.. Next thing I knew I was asleep..
