The God of
Death
Altha'ari started up the large staircase now to investigate why Caesar had inquired about him. He knew it would either be for his physical ability, and wanted someone taken care of, or to recruit him into his army. He knew declining whatever offer he placed before him also would carry some sort of repercussion as people in high political standing generally did not like to hear the word no. He followed Cleopatra into the king's chambers and from there both Tara and Caesar stood before him.
There was a grim air in the room as he entered, but he was prepared to do whatever it took to keep Tara in his life, even to the point of joining Caesar if he had convinced his beloved to do so. He approached Caesar and bowed his head for a moment, as even the great Altha'ari knew not to test the anger of a man who was known for having massive numbers of soldiers.
" So this is the great warrior of Alexandria." Caesar's voice rang through the chambers.
" And you are the fabled king of war." Altha'ari returned. " What is it that you would ask of me? Why have you summoned me?"
" Straight to the point I see." Caesar responded with a smile. "I like it. Well it would appear the stunt you three pulled would turn out to be one of the most ingenus political moves in history. This does not come without its own problems though as you would probably have already guessed. By the time the opposing side hears of this he will begin amassing his own army in an attempt at my life before Cleopatra can add more numbers to our own specialised forces."
" That's where I come in is it not?" Altha'ari asked.
" That is where you come in indeed. You and your savage fighting style proliferate wildly in the specific setting this is about to produce. I would like for you to travel to the edge of the city of Memphis to cut off his forces and eliminate any chance he has at adding to his numbers. Be warned though, if he has any sort of inclination, which we are sure he will, that you or anyone else for that matter knows about his connections there he will be prepared for a fight." Caesar came, this time much more serious.
" How exactly do we know he knows we are going to be coming?" Altha'ari questioned.
" Cleopatra has already been seen here. He will know something is off once he realizes she has not been beheaded in my presence or driven out of Alexandria like he was. There isn't much else for him to look for their except an alliance. The threat of a combined army versus his minimal forces will convey one message, and that is that we intend to overpower him and drive him out of the region once and for all. And for these reasons he will have no choice but to head into Memphis to bolster his numbers." Caesar explained.
" How exactly do you expect me to cut off and kill an entire squadron of men alone?" Altha'ari asked, concerned look on his face now.
"You used the right word then, Altha'ari. I expect it because of your name." Caesar pointed his finger at Altha'ari's chest now.
" I see." Altha'ari said aloud.
" Do you need a bit of motivation?" Cleopatra came now.
" What do you mean my queen?" Altha'ari raised his brow.
" Kill them all and I will relieve Tara of her duties as my under. I will leave her in control of her home city of Memphis and the two of you may finally see your way out of all of this." Cleopatra came boldly.
