Notes:

To my dearest marvel-lovers,

A little while ago I was planning on making this the final chapter.
Then I read it... and reread it... and read it again... and deleted it because I thought it was absolutely no good and felt like this fic would have been cut short if I would have posted it...
So now there's this, a 10 pages long new chapter! I really hope you will enjoy it and I will try my best to upload the next chapter much faster.
Lot's of love~

'Floor one to three, secured.' Widow's voice echoed over the Bluetooth earpieces, panting slightly after which a shot from a gun was heard. 'Correction. Now the floor's secured.'

'Copy that,' Captain America whispered. 'Hawkeye?'

'I've got eyes on the Big Guy. Perimeter almost cleared. A total of four tanks have been destroyed and a total of seven mosquito have bitten my arm.' The faraway cry from a man was heard, followed by a heavy explosion and Hulk's lurid roar. 'Oh, make that five tanks.' The archer grumbled in annoyance as he heard yet another bug buzzing somewhere around his head. 'I'm going inside the building and join Black Widow.'

Natasha felt the floor shaking beneath her feet as another tank was thrown against the walls of the old Hydra base they were infiltrating. She would have a word with The Hulk once all of this was over. She waited patiently for Hawkeye to join her on the third floor, never letting her guard down. 'You guys got any intel on the vault?'

Their mission was simple, yet as always not without risk. Buried deep within the dense jungle of southeastern Mexico, hidden from sight by the thick walls of the ancient Maya civilization, was a fully operating Hydra base. Fury had eyes on them about half a year ago, sending spies to infiltrate their facility and provide him with much needed intel.

It turned out Hydra was creating weapons by the masses, storing them deep within the pyramids and temples. It soon became clear that the spies would never have enough time to chart out every layer and hallway of the complex structures as they learned what horrors one of the temples contained.

Hydra was trying to recreate the Super Soldier Serum, to create an army of their own. New guinea pigs were being trafficked into the temple on a weekly basis, men and women locked away behind solid stone before meeting a fate more gruesome than death as the serum was far from complete.

'Well...' Iron Man sighed as he, Steve and Loki stared at the three tunnels ahead of them. 'We uhm- we might have a little directional problem here.'

'What do you mean?' Widow asked with irritation in her voice. She looked at Hawkeye and slapped his hand as the archer kept scratching at his irritated skin.

'What I mean is that Google Maps doesn't really care for this particular Maya village,' Tony grumbled as he saw Steve and Loki arguing back and forth over which path to tread. 'Plus, we are six hundred feet underground; Jarvis can't make any accurate scans.'

'I told you we should have asked for directions,' Loki stated calmly as he sat down on a dusty old rock, his green cape keeping his leather trousers from getting stained. 'Why did you not ask for directions?'

'Are you serious?' The captain sighed as he looked down the narrow tunnel from which they came. 'We're surrounded by Hydra agents. Either they try to kill us before we can even say anything, or they kill themselves.'

'Should have left the talking to me,' Loki shrugged.

Tony merely muttered from the sideline, 'Why am I teamed up with the married couple...'

'You think you can do better?' The blond asked, one hand resting on his hip as he ignored the playboy.

'Steven, love, I do not mean to sound disrespectful however, anything you can do I can do better.' The smirk on the god's face was undeniable, the gold of his helmet framing his gleaming emerald eyes.
