Loki crawled out of bed without answering, walking on bare feet towards the window, a blanket draped over his naked body. '...He has found me.'

He stared in absolute horror as lightning lightened up the skyline, hitting trees and setting them ablaze. He heard people screaming as they ran down the streets in search of shelter, the sound of sirens overpowering their voices as police and firemen rushed into the chaos.

Loki watched in utter helplessness as electric firebolts came down like rain, hail damaging cars and tearing at the leaves of the trees. A powerful blast hit the tower, causing the structure to shake in its core. The dresser creaked, a carafe hitting the floor and shattering into a thousand pieces. The lamp hanging from the ceiling swayed, shadows dancing in anger across the floor as Loki lost his balance and caught himself against the wall.

He opened his eyes and looked outside; his breath stolen from his lungs as he saw a figure immerging through the storm on the walkway which was designed for Tony's armor removal.

The figure immediately caught the trickster's eye, causing him to freeze and tremble with fear.

Loki's voice was without hope as he whispered; 'Thor...'

'What?' Steve's voice came from the bed as he threw the blankets off and jumped into his sweatpants. It only took a heartbeat for him to stand next to his boyfriend, eyes scanning the devastation that rained down on the streets. He felt his heart beating loudly in his chest as he found the God of Thunder standing in the center of the storm. '... Stay here,' he pressed a hand against Loki chest, authority clear in his voice as he tried to remain calm. 'I'll go assemble the others. You stay inside.' He dashed out of the room, grabbing his sweater on his way out as he shouted one more time; 'Stay here! I'll be right back!'

Loki turned around; lips parted to speak, yet he remained silent as the sound of Steve's footsteps faded. The trickster looked at the beast that was his brother, his hands forming into tight fists as Thor had not moved a muscle.

It didn't take long for the raven to figure that his new friends would be no match for the Allfather. Thor would see them slaughtered before the first rays of dawn, have their blood spilled before they could even raise their weapons.

It quickly became clear for Loki what he had to do. He could not sacrifice the lives of these mortals just so he could stay hidden in the safety of the tower. He got dressed in the Midgardian outfit Barton had helped him pick long ago, a simple navy blue sweater and a pair of black jeans.

He did not bother to conjure his Asgardian outfit, no black leather suit as he walked through the halls towards the walkway, no golden armor protecting him as he stepped outside.

Rain hit his face, cooling his skin. His expression remained stoic as he kept his distance. His heartbeat was barely audible over the howling of the wind, a shiver crawling over his skin as lightning illuminated the dark skies. 'Thor-'
