Darkness is all around her, she can't see nor move.....the darkness keeps her in place, no movement or sight...her senses dulled.
There is a small spark, it is quick, but not unseen, she reaches for it, hoping for light,
She wrestled with the darkness, she wanted that spark, she needed that spark....almost there....

-Beep Beep Beep Beep-
I groaned and rolled over to turn off my IPhone alert, I was pissed off because my slumber had been interrupted, and I knew going back to sleep wouldn't be an option now. I sat up and stretched a bit, feeling my joints pop from the pressure. I sat there for a moment contemplating what to do, so I picked up the phone to see what the alert had been for, I felt sick to my stomach. There had been another murder.....for the past several months, a total of 12 women had been abducted from their homes, and then found dead a week later, they had all been beaten to death.....and the sight was always narly. I looked at the photo that had been sent with the alert, it was a woman with straight blue hair, and brown eyes, she wasn't a bad sight. I sighed and checked the time on my phone, it read to be 3:34 am, and that made me groan. I had work in about 3 hours...plus I had to make the q hour commute.....
"Well, might as well Get ready now...."
I rolled out of the bed and shuffled over to the bathroom, I turned on the light, and started brushing out my hair, which was always a bit of a struggle. No matter how much I tried to straighten it out, or braid it, it would just undo itself and go back to being it's blue fluff. Although, brushing it was easier than straightening it, and my hair was pretty, so that makes up for it I guess. I walked out of the bathroom, and grabbed my uniform out of the closet, well....I say uniform, but you can really wear whatever you want. I studied the closet and settled for my black sweater and a pair of black pants. I then laced up my boots and grabbed my bag, sliding it over my shoulder and heading out the door. I then proceeded to my SUV, and hopped in, the big car made me look small, which I am, but it made me look smaller, almost like a child was driving. I tossed the bag to the passenger seat, and pullled out of the drive way and onto the open road.
—Half an Hour later.—
"Damn it!"
I grouched, today's traffic was awful, more so than other days, and I wasn't moving at all. Luckily, since I had left early, I would make it on time for work, but this traffic still pissed me off nonetheless. Just as I was about to get into a brief cussing moment in the car, my phone started to ring, I put the phone up on the cars dash, (I have fancy stand that holds it up), and put my headphones in, and accepted the call,
"Sonya....are you on your way to work right now?"
I blinked in surprise, on the other end was my friend Mika, who rarely ever called me in the mornings for work, so this call was a bit odd.
"In fact I am, although I'm stuck in traffic at the moment, so it'll take me a bit, but I'll be on time."
"Perfect, because we have a case.....and we need our top detective on it."
A small smile started to form on my face, she always called me to make sure I was taking a case, even though she knows the answer, she asks anyway.
"Of course, I'll see you in a bit,"
"Alright! I'll get the coffee started, this is gonna be a tough one."
I raised my brow, but she hung up before I could ask another question, which was a bit frustrating, but I let it slide. I stared out my window, thinking to myself......I wonder what case we were going to be on, we don't always finish the cases, but most of them we try to get somewhat complete if we can. Before I could finish my thoughts I heard a horn honk at me, I turned to see which car it had come from, the honk cam again, from right beside me, I looked out my passenger window, and saw someone waving at me. It was a woman with pink hair and sunglasses, I waved back, I didn't want to seem rude, but it was kinda weird that some stranger was randomly waving at me on the road. I then looked forward and realized I could drive forward now, YES! I started driving and heading to work, if Mika said this is a tough case, it's going to be difficult.
