After your startling dream, you quickly awoke.

Your eyes opened slowly and you observed your surroundings. You were in Masaru's room, still tucked in bed. The boy beside you was sleeping soundly and tuffs of breaths would hit your neck every once in a while. You shuttered, but didn't want to disturb his sleep so you carefully removed yourself from the bed and walked out of the door.

You just wanted some fresh air after your dream. You left the servant building and found a quiet spot in the courtyard beside a small, trickling pond. You sat under the tree, staring down at the calm water.

Why are people speaking to me in my dreams? I don't understand where they come from or what they want from me.

Pondering your dreams, you held a smooth rock under your fingers and threw it into the pond, hearing the pop sound echo throughout the rest of the pond. The sun was starting to rise and light was slowly giving way.

I didn't sleep much.. but how could I? I have no idea what the Empress will do because Masaru escaped her attacks. I need to make sure he stays away from her.

Your thoughts were rambling and you didn't even notice the presence beside you. You heard a crack of a twig and your head shot towards the sound.

You finally sighed once seeing the boy you had stayed with. "Masaru.. you scared me! You're too hurt to be out here!"

Masaru shook his head and sat beside you. "I'm fine. I thought you had left me." He adverted his eyes, looking relieved that he had found you. He knew it was stupid to think that because all your things were still left in his room.

"You know I wouldn't do that." You muttered, taking another smooth rock into your fingers.

"I know." The boy responded, peering down at the rock in your hands. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing. Just a bad dream. Sorry if I woke you."

"It's okay."

Silence filled the air as the sun rose higher in the sky. The swirl of colors in the sky amazed you.

"Aren't you ever scared of me?" Masaru finally asked, his eyes looking down at your own.

"Why would I be?" You answered his question with another.

"I'm an assassin, I kill people all the time." He spoke, glaring down at the pond.

"Did you want to?"

"No."

"Then I'm not scared of you." You just shrugged and finally threw the rock into the pond.

Masaru watched the pond ripple in small waves. He didn't understand your logic, but he was thankful for it.

"C'mon, you need to get back in bed." You huffed, pulling yourself up and dusting yourself off. You held out a hand to help him up and he took it, getting himself up as well.

"I'm really fine." He muttered grumpily, clearly not liking the idea of you having to watch over him like some sick puppy. "I can take care of myself."

"Sure you can." You pat him on the back and urged him back towards the servant house. "Where are the other servants anyways? You said this was a servant house right?"

"Most of the servants are taking care of things in other areas of the Empire. Whenever they return, this is where they stay." Masaru explained, since no other servants seemed to be around here at the moment.

You nodded and slowly lead him back into his room. You pointed to his bed, telling him to sit down.

Masaru hesitantly obliged and eyed what you were doing.
