I'm currently laying in Caleb's hospital bed with him. He is laying right next to me on this stupid ass hospital bed. I wish he wasn't here right now. I run my fingers through his hair as as a few tears fall down my face.

The doctors said he was going to be just fine. It's just his shoulder and he is just going to need time to recover. He hasn't woken up yet. They said he should wake up in about twenty minutes, so I'm excited to see him.

Nick called me and told me that the cops are all over the house. Our entire house is like a police investigation site. I'm honestly glad I'm not there. I don't know if I would be able to handle that.

I still can't believe I killed her. It's forever going to haunt me. I never in my life thought I would kill someone.

The door to Caleb's room opens and Maggie walks in. She looks a lot better than earlier. She was bawling because she literally almost got killed. I don't blame her for freaking out. I wanted to cry for her.

"Hey," she says quietly.

"Hi," I say. She walks more into the room and stands at the end of the bed. She starts to play with her fingers and I can tell she is very nervous.

"I'm sorry," she says.

"No," I say. "You have nothing to apologize for. I'm sorry for saying all those hurtful things to you. I didn't mean any of it. I had to. I just didn't want you to get killed."

"I know," she whispers, "Ansley told me everything."

"I didn't mean any of it," I say.

She smiles, "I know that. I'm not mad at you. I forgive you and I hope we can get past this."

"Of course we can," I say.

"Well I'll let you two go," she says. "I'm glad that we worked everything out."

I smile, "Me too."

"I love you," she says.

"I love you too," I whisper.

She walks out of the room and I smile to myself. I'm so glad that she understood and she's not mad anymore. I didn't want to lose her. She is my best friend. We have been through so much together.

"At least she doesn't hate you."

I look over and I see Caleb's eyes wide open, "Caleb!" I wrap my arms around him tightly and he chuckles. "How do you feel? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," he says. "How are you though? How are you holding up?"

I sigh, "Surprisingly I'm okay. I didn't think I would be, but I'm fine."

He smiles, "I told you that everything would eventually work out."

"You are right," I say.

"I always am."

I lightly punch his good arm and we both start laughing, "I love you, Caleb Zion Kuwonu."

"And I love you."

[2 months later]

Everything has been so good and I mean so good. The boys moved houses because none of us felt safe in the old house. Maggie, Ansley, and I all moved in with the boys officially.

Caleb recovered very good with his gunshot wound and we are better than ever. We obviously got back together after everything happened. I've never been happier with him.

"Love, are you ready?" I hear from downstairs.

"Coming!"

Today Caleb and I are going on our first ever date. It's 9 o'clock at night and I don't understand why we are going out so late. He won't tell me where we are going. We never really had the time to go on a date after everything. We have always been so busy with moving that we never got to go.

I walk downstairs and Caleb is wearing black jeans with a white button up shirt. He looks so good.

"You look beautiful," he says.

"Thank you."

He grabs onto my hand and we walk to the car. He opens the car door for me and I get in. He goes to the other side of the car and gets in. We drive away and I start to play music.

"Please just tell me where we are going," I say.

"There is no fun in that," he says.

I roll my eyes, "You suck."

We continue to listen to music for another ten minutes until we arrive at a golf course.

"We are golfing?" I ask.

He chuckles, "Not exactly." We get out of the car and start to walk on the course hand in hand.

We keep walking on the course until we go over a hill. There is a small table with lights surrounding it. It looks so beautiful. I honestly thought we would just go out to dinner somewhere, but I was so wrong.

"Caleb, it's beautiful."

We keep walking until we are at the table. "Before we sit down and eat I want to talk to you about something."

"Okay," I say.

He digs in his back pocket and pulls out a small box. "No, I'm not proposing to you, but I'm promising you something. I promise to protect you and to keep you safe forever. I promise to love you even when I hate you. I promise to never give up on you."

"Caleb," I say wiping my face from my tears.

"No I'm not done," he says. He opens the box and there is a small beautiful ring. "I promise to marry you one day." He takes the ring out of the box, "I promise."

"I promise too," I say. He slides the ring onto my ring finger and I look down at it smiling. I can't believe this happened.

"I love you," he says.

I lean up and I press my lips to his. He quickly kisses me back and I smile. We pull away, "I love you, Caleb."

We both sit down at the table and we start to eat. As we eat I think about everything that happened over the past few months.

I hated the idea of living with him, but instead I fell in love with the man that had to protect me.

I fell in love with my protector.
