Nabu Middle School— 2:34 P.M.
Shinso walked down the pavement of his school, ready to just collapse on his couch and rest at home. Today had been kind of a rough day for him. Once again, people were talking trash about his quirk, saying it would make an amazing villain quirk, and to not brainwash them. It annoyed and hurt his feelings, but he just smiled it off, saying, "People always say that." He didn't have many friends because of how many people feared him, so he was used to being alone.
"Hey, you, guy with awesome hair!" A female voice called from behind him, the sound of shoes pounding against the pavement drew Shinso's attention.
He slowly turned around and stood tensely. A cute girl around his age was jogging over to him, a cheerful smile on her [S/C] face.
Once she finally caught up to the indigo haired boy, she let out a sigh and flicked her [H/C] hair back. "You're Hitoshi Shinso, right?"
Shinso stayed silent for a moment's worth. Why was she looking for him?
"Why do you want to know?"
The girl pouted her bottom lip before letting out a small giggle, holding her hand out to him. "My name's [F/N] [L/N]. I was just wanting to be your friend."
Shinso's tired eyes widen slightly in surprise. 'My friend?' He thinks, hesitantly shaking her hand. "Why?"
[F/N] laughs a little again. "Do I really need a reason to be your friend?"
Shinso's face fell, making [F/N] become a little nervous.
"Sorry! Sorry, didn't mean to offend you." She drops her gaze to the ground and fiddles with her thumbs. "I ... I want to get to know you because of how similar our quirks are."
Shinso raises one of his brows curiously. He doesn't remember ever seeing this girl before, so he doesn't know anything about her quirk. 'Does she have a brainwashing quirk too?'
"What do you mean? What's your quirk?" Shinso questioned.
[F/N] felt like a bullet had hit her chest and her cheeks flared with embarrassment.
"Oh! Ehehe! I-I thought you would've known, but, uh, guess it's reasonable why you don't." She looks up to Shinso and smiles shyly. "My quirk is Lust. I can put anyone under my charming control as long as I make eye contact with someone while my quirk is activated. It makes my eye color change to pink!"
Shinso continued to stare the bubbly girl down. 'I guess they're kinda similar, but ... we're nothing alike.'
"Yeah. I guess they're similar," He simply states, making [F/N] beam with joy.
"But I still don't understand why you want to associate yourself with me. Aren't you afraid of me? Scared I might brainwash you?"
[F/N] lets out a 'pffft' sound before saying, "Yeah, a little. But I trust you won't do anything."
"Why's that?"
"Because you wanna be a hero like me."
Shinso remained quiet and stunned.
[F/N] realized she had finally gotten him to soften up and continued, "I hear what people say about your quirk. How it would make a good villain quirk. How whenever they meet you the first thing they say is don't brainwash me. I get that feeling."
Shinso immediately perks up a little. "You do?"
[F/N] smirks a little and folds her arms over her chest. "Can you only speak in questions?" She teases.
Shinso stares her dead in eye and goes to turn around, feeling like this conversation was pointless. [F/N] feels her heart sink to her stomach, and in her panic to keep him there so she can rephrase, she takes his hand in hers, linking their fingers together. Shinso's cheeks flared red, his heart skipping a couple beats.
"Wait, I-I'm sorry! God, I always say the wrong thing. I'm sorry! Please ... stay," [F/N] mumbles, staring up at Shinso.
He gazed at her sorrowful and flustered face and a sense of guilt overwhelmed him as he curtly sighs. "It's fine. I'm just not used to people ..." He unlinks their hands and clears his throat. "... wanting to be my friend."
[F/N] eyes Shinso and chuckles sheepishly. "Yeah, well ... guess we're both in the same boat."
A small and barely noticeable smile grazed Shinso's face as he nodded.
"Yeah. Guess we are."
[F/N] couldn't have been anymore happier. She let out a confident 'hmph' and marched in front of Shinso, who turned to look at her funny.
"Where are you going?"
She stopped walking over to the school gates to turn back to Shinso. "Walking home with you. Duh."
A gentle breeze blew [F/N]'s hair over her shoulder, the afternoon sun bringing out her [E/C] eyes, and her smile seeming to light up the cherry blossom scene.
Shinso was sure that in that moment, he had lost his breath.
And she didn't need even need to use her quirk to charm him.
