Shinso slowly opened his eyes, regaining consciousness again, the cheers of people were muffled in his ears. He let out a small groan because of the pain he felt in his back.

Once everything became clear, Shinso closed his hand into a fist.

"And with that expertly performed throw, we have our first victor in the finals! Class 1-A's Izuku Midoriya!" Present Mic announced.

Izuku was still shaking with energy and slowly looked up towards the stands full of UA Sports festival fans cheering him on. He couldn't believe that he actually made it.

"Oh yeah! That was actually kind of a boring first match, kids. But both of you fought bravely! Let's show them some love, everyone!" Present Mic shouted.

Shinso slowly stood back to his feet and hung his head in shame while Izuku held his own wrist firmly.

As everyone applauded in the stands, Izuku couldn't help but to think about what Shinso had said to him.

'"Someone as blessed as you could never understand!"'

Izuku let his shoulders relax as he glanced up at Shinso empathetically.

"'It'll be so easy for you to reach your goal!"'

Izuku decided to ask Shinso something that had been boggling his mind. "Why do you wanna be a hero? What's driving you?"

Shinso looks up to Izuku with a lifted brow. An image of [F/N] flashed in Shinso's head as he turned from Izuku in embarrassment.

"You can't help the things your heart longs for."

Izuku's eyes widen as Shinso turns his back on him and walks out of the ring with his hands tucked into his pockets. As he made his way to leave the stadium, students from his class called out to him over the side of their seats.

"You were awesome out there, Shinso!"

"We're so proud of you!"

"You didn't tell us you were that good!"

"Yeah! You're the star of our program!"

Shinso stares up at his classmates in awe as they gesture to some of the Pros sitting behind them, talking positively about his quirk. Saying how they wish they had his power or that they couldn't believe he was stuck in general studies.

Then, someone he'd been hoping to still see popped up next to the other students with a large smile.

"That was incredible, Shinso!" [F/N] exclaimed.

It made Shinso's heart skip a beat.

"Don't worry, Shinso. This was only one minor bump in the road. I still believe in you, hero!"

Shinso's mouth twitched into a smile.

Even after losing, even after embarrassing himself in front of the world, she still believed in him. He looked back to Izuku, who had watched the scene in adoration.

"Depending on the results, they might transfer people onto the hero course. Remember that," He said. "Even if it didn't work out this time, I'm not giving up."

[F/N] smiles softly from her best friend's ambition. It was probably one of the many things she admired about Shinso.

"I'll get onto the hero track, get certified, and then ... I'll become a better pro than any of you."

Izuku takes in a deep breath before humming in agreement.

And Shinso brainwashed him.

'What?! Why did he brainwash me? The match is over.'

Shinso chuckles a little before saying, "You know, people usually tense up whenever they talk to me. If you're not on guard, someone's going to defeat you. So be careful," He warned Izuku, before stopping his quirk and letting Izuku blink again.

"Hey! Broccoli boy!" [F/N] called from the stands.

Izuku looked up to the girl in surprise.

"Better win the next battle! Shinso is a hard nut to crack, so if you lose and make my bestie look bad, I'll sucker punch you!"

Izuku laughed nervously and rubbed his arm from her passive aggressive nature.

"I won't!"

[F/N] smiles and gives Izuku a thumbs up.

"Good!"

She looked back down at Shinso and smiled before squishing past some of her classmates. Shinso understood what she was doing and walked off the field to go see her again inside.

When the two finally met up, [F/N] wrapped him in one of her bear hugs.

"Hitoshi! You were so amazing out there! I'm sorry you didn't win this time. But the next time you get your shot, we'll beat up that Midoriya kid ... with our words and minds!"

Shinso laughs a little before setting [F/N] back down on her feet and patting her head. "Yeah. Of course. We'll be ready for that."

[F/N] nods enthusiastically before saying, "I'm going to be fighting that blonde guy from class 1-A. I think it'll be pretty easy. Probably won't even need to use my quirk since he's already smitten over me, right?" She jokes, making Shinso's smile falter.

'Oh. Right. That Denki kid gave her his phone number. What a punk.'

[F/N] shyly grasps Shinso's shoulder with a light blush dusted on her cheeks. "H-Hey ... uh ..."

Shinso looked down at her in question. She's never stuttered like this before.
Why is she so nervous?

'Is she ... trying to confess?' Shinso thought hopefully, his heart feeling like it was going to burst at the seams.

"Yeah, what is it?"

She takes in a deep breath before finally meeting with his eyes, [E/C] clashing with purple.

"You'll cheer me on when my time comes to fight, right?"

Shinso freezes in his spot, and sinks in what she just said. 'Oh. Wait, what?'

[F/N]'s face turned even a brighter shade of red as she turned to hide her face in her hands. "Ah! Never mind! That was a stupid question, right? God, sorry! I'm just so nervous right now!"

"Hey," Shinso softly said, taking her small hand in his larger one.

[F/N] looked back up to Shinso, who smiled down at her.

"Of course I'll be cheering you on. You did the same for me. It's only fair that I return the favor, [F/N]." He then gave her a quick peck on the cheek before standing back up straight. "Just a kiss for extra luck."

[F/N]'s already flustered face became even hotter as she bolted away from Shinso in a hurry.

"Yes! Sorry! I mean, thank you! The kiss! It was great! Thanks for the luck, Shinso! I'll see you!" She yelled out all at once as she made her way to one of the waiting rooms to cool down.

Shinso stood in place completely stunned before slapping a hand to his forehead. "That was so stupid! Why did I kiss her like that?"

'Great. Now I've made things awkward.' He thinks, hearing Present Mic call up the next contestants.

He sighs and slowly walks back to the stands. 'I'll have to apologize to her later.'
