"Wow!!! UA High! This is exciting! Isn't is awesome, Shinso?!"

The said-boy looked very upset. 'I didn't make the hero course. It's all because of that ridiculous robot test made for those with flashy quirks. Why couldn't I be born with some cool power? It's stupid.'

[F/N] stopped blabbering on about UA when she took notice of Shinso's distressed state. Her smile faltered and she rubbed his back. "Hey. You're upset about being in class 1-C, right?"

Shinso scoffs and shrugs [F/N]'s hand off his back. "Of course. I knew I wasn't good enough. It's all because I don't have some flashy quirk."

"Oi!" [F/N] lightly pinches his arm, making him jump back and glare at her.

"What the hell, [F/N]?"

"I don't like seeing my best friend upset. You made it in UA because your quirk is amazing! We both did!"

"But it's the General Department ..."

"So?"

"So, it's not the Hero course."

"You don't need to be in the Hero course to become a hero, Shinso. Plenty of people become heroes in different ways," [F/N] says, stopping in front of Shinso on the sidewalk. He finally looked up at her determined face with a deadpanned expression.

"But it's not the same ..."

[F/N] narrows her eyes and takes Shinso's hands, making him flinch.

"What are you doing?"

"Getting your attention so you can take what I'm about to say seriously."

Shinsou glances up to [F/N] and she takes in a deep breath.

"I know you're upset about not making the hero course. I'm upset I didn't make it either. But as long we stick together, there's nothing stopping us from accomplishing our dreams."

Shinso looks a little taken aback, and [F/N] leans forward with a soft expression.

"And when you do become a hero, I'll be on the sidelines cheering you on."

Shinso's cheeks dusted a light pink as he nodded. He slowly started to lean in on [F/N], but she had pulled back before he could make a move, completely oblivious to his actions.

"Good! Now, let's hurry up and get our school supplies. I hope we get to sit next to each other. Or even better, we don't even have assigned seating!"

Shinso went back to being disappointed that he failed to make his move.

'That's a swing and a miss!' He thought.

He looked down to his wrist, watching as [F/N] happily pulled him along and talked about school and other things along those lines. Shinso smiles a little and starts walking side by side with her. He intertwined his fingers with hers and continued to walk to the store with her.

[F/N] looked up to Shinso in awe, a tiny blush coating her cheeks as she looked forward again, giving his hand a squeeze.

She was glad she could lighten her friend's mood.
