It had been a week since Ashlynn and the Pevensies left Narnia. Just as Ashlynn suspected, she emerged from the pond she had fallen into when she first journeyed back. Estrella was standing to the side, patiently waiting for her master to return. Ashlynn gave the horse a soft pat and quickly mounted her and raced back to the manor. She had to talk to the professor.

Ashlynn immediately located the Professor and relayed her latest adventure. She finished by asking if the Pevensies could visit, to which he replied yes. Ashlynn was giddy when she heard he would contact their mother as soon as possible.

She waited patiently for the weekend to arrive and bring the Pevensies with her. They were coming to celebrate the Professor's birthday, and she couldn't be more excited. Even though it had been less than a week since she had seen them last, Ashlynn missed them dearly. Especially Edmund. The feeling of his lips on his own was burned into her mind and she couldn't help but wish to feel them again. Finally, Friday has arrived.

Ashlynn rode out with Ms. McCready to collect the siblings. She was a top Estrella, knowing Lucy would want to see her again. When they reached the station, she leaped off her horse and tackled the foursome to the ground. Laughter resonated across the valley and Ashlynn was beaming with happiness.

"I missed you guys!" She cried.

"It's only been a week Ash," Lucy reminded her.

Ashlynn shrugged sheepishly before grabbing Lucy's hand and pulling her over to Estrella. She helped the young girl onto the horse before pulling herself up behind her. Ms. Mcready took off in the cart with the rest of the Pevensies. Edmund kept his eyes on his sister and best friend behind them, unable to wipe the goofy smile off his face. He couldn't help but wish he could kiss her again.

The festivities began as soon as they arrived at the manor. The Professor welcomed the family back to his home and informed them of their rooms. The group then adjourned to the dining room where they enjoyed delicious food and a wonderful dessert. As soon as they had finished, Ashlynn dragged the siblings outside.

"Come on, it's time for the best part!" She called out to them, racing across the open backyard.

The Professor followed behind the children, rolling out a large cart covered in various cylinders. He plucked one off the top and held out to Ashlynn who took it happily. The blonde immediately ran over to a open area and placed the cylinder down before pulling a matchbox out of her pocket. In one swift motion she struck the match and placed the flame near the end of the cylinder. As soon as the string had caught the flame, she backed away, blowing out the match as she did so. In a few seconds the cylinder shot a small flame into the sky. It exploded against the inky canvas, splattering an array of colors against it. The Pevensies looked in awe.

"I wanna try!" Lucy shouted and ran to the Professor.

The small family spent the rest of the night lighting up the night sky and creating their own stars. Lucy and Ashlynn drew designs with their sparklers and Edmund and Peter tried to light their own fireworks at the same time. Ashlynn hadn't stopped smiling the entire time.

The night was drawing on, but they had no intention of stopping. Edmund and Ashlynn sat off to the side underneath a tree, watching their siblings enjoy themselves.

"This is amazing Ash," Edmund spoke.

Ashlynn continued facing forward and nodded her head. "It's my favorite part."

"I can see why. It reminds me of the day we were crowned. We watched the fireworks all night, remember?"

Ashlynn finally turned to look at the young boy beside her. The tip of his nose was a few centimetres away and she could see the fire light reflecting in his brown eyes.

"Ed?" Ashlynn whispered, unnerved by their close proximity.

"Ash?" Edmund responded, just as quietly.

Ashlynn sucked in a deep breath, terrified of the words she was about to utter.

"I, uh, I l-," She stuttered, her confidence failing her.

Edmund cut the stuttering girl short, brushing a small piece of hair out of her face. He gently cupped her cheek, gazing intently into her cerulean eyes.

           "Me too." He uttered.

Suddenly, all of Ashlynn's nerves dissipated, the weight on her shoulders being completely lifted. A giddy Cheshire Cat grin stretched across her lips, and her eyes sparkled in the moonlight. Edmund gazed longingly at the girl before him, memorizing every inch of her face.

Ashlynn's stare shifted upward to admire the moonlit sky above them. A bright flash skated across the darkness, pulling a gasp out of Ashlynn's lips. She looked down at Edmund, who hadn't broken his stare.

"Make a wish," She whispered before capturing his lips with her own.
