Chapter 4: The Story

"Shut up, Eclipse." Pagbabawal ni Craige. Umiling-iling si Eclipse at tumigil na sa pagtawa.

"Susunod na." Sabi ni Eclipse at inabot kay Craige ang emerald stone.

"Ano 'toh? Peace offering?" Tanong ni Craige at umiling si Eclipse.

"She needs that." Sambit ni Eclipse. Nagkatinginan kami ni Craige at napakibit-balikat.

"Kréi, the prosecutor, she's the most intelligent and ruthless prosecutor during the time..." Zeref said.

"She have never failed any case and won every trial including the messed up trial." Pagpapatuloy ni Zeref at napatingin ako sa kaniya.

"At ano namang kinalaman ng emerald stone sa kailangan niya?" Tanong ni Craige.

"As you can see or you can't, emerald stone is their family's signature and with that hindi niya magawa ang gusto niya, hindi siya malayang ipahayag ang totoong siya. Hindi niya nagawang maging masaya." Patuloy na sambit ni Zeref

"How is that related to the trial?" Tanong ni Craige.

"As what I said she's the prosecutor of the trial, she did her best and won the case for the sake of the emerald." Zeref said and my eye brows almost met.

"Wait, she's the prosecutor and she won, right? Does it mean that the victim is the one at fault?" I raised the question. To be honest, I'm not getting the story.

"I thought the victim needed justice." Craige added and I nodded. I'm confused.

"Ayts, sorry. Hindi ko pala nakwento kaya magulo." Sambit ni Eclipse at tumawa ng bahagya.

"I'll make it short, the story is about a known province cook who went to the city to serve for the army as their, obviously, cook. The cook attracted attention from everyone who went to eat or passed through the kitchen." Eclipse started. Now, we're getting something.

"Isang araw, napadaan ang panganay na anak na lalaki ng isa sa makapangyarihang pamilya sa kusina ng mga mandirigma at namangha siya sa taglay na galing ng tagaluto. He grew interest at the cook, fell in love and tried to do something nasty but the second son of the same family came and killed the first one which save the cook or so we thought." Eclipse said.

"The second son told everyone that the cook killed the first born and all. They went on trial and obviously, the cook received a death sentence within the day." She continued while looking at Farrah.

"A frame up?" I asked and Zeref hummed as an answer.

"Gaano kaikli ang kwento na 'yan?" Tanong ni Craige at natawa.

"Almost a book short." Sarkastikong sagot ni Eclipse at umirap.

"So what should I do with this emerald stone?" Craige asked.

"Put it in her hand, dumb-dumb." Eclipse answered and Craige shook his head.

"Nope," Craige and what he did next shocked me. Ibinagsak niya ang emerald stone at binasag iyon gamit ang diamond.

"Yah! Baliw ka ba?" Tanong ko ng mabasag niya ang emerald stone.

"Partly no," sagot niya at pinulot ang mga piraso ng emerald stone. Tumayo siya at inilagay iyon sa palad ni Kréi. Napatanga ako ng ngumiti siya.

"Ang emerald na ang nagpahirap sa kaniya, bakit mo pa gugustuhin ang bagay na nagpapahirap sa'yo?" Sagot ni Craige at napangiti ako sa punto niya.

"Okay na, Kréi. Medyo huli na pero nasira ko na. Maging masaya ka na kung nasaan ka." Nakangiting sambit ni Craige. Kung nasa normal lang kaming sitwasyon baka tinawanan ko na siya.
