I lay in my bed, a proud smile on my face as I think of tryouts from earlier. I think they went pretty well for me. And I know they went really well for that Scott McCall kid as well. He was so good actually, he even flipped over a couple guys, just to take a shot. It was pretty cool. Jackson didn't seem to think so, ranting to Danny and I about it.

I didn't care what he thought though. It just meant we had some good players on the team that could help us beat the others. Tonight was the party. I was going with some kid names Stiles. I don't know who'd name their kid that but I wasn't going to say anything. He's apparently Scott's best friend. Him and Allison set us up, claiming we were both single and needed dates.

I get ready for the party and lean in the doorway as I watch Allison get in the car with Scott. I give him a stare down the whole time and Allison rolls her eyes at me. I had to make sure he knew if he did anything to my sister, there would be consequences. The two pull away and not long after that, a Jeep pulls up. A kid with a buzzcut climbs out, a wide smile on his face as he opens the passenger door for me.

"Thanks" I send a small smile at him as he shuts the door behind me. He starts driving us to the party. "You're one of the new girls, right? Allison's sister?" Stiles brings up. "Yep" I nod. "You've only been here a week and Scott's obsessed with your sister already" Stiles scoffs. "Trust me, it's not one-sided. She can't stop talking about him. 'Scott said this' 'Scott did that'. Like please, shut the hell up!" I complain and Stiles chuckles. "Scott's the same way" He says and I roll my eyes in amusement.

"You play lacrosse too, don't you?" I bring up. "You could say that" He rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. "I saw you out on the field" I say. "Doesn't mean I'm good. I'm a bench warmer." He shrugs and I nod. "You're really good though" He tells me. "Thanks. I love sports. I've never played lacrosse actually but once I heard it was the sport here, I knew I had to try it." I explain.

"You know, Scott didn't used to be that good either. He was a bench warmer too" Stiles admits. "What? Really? He seems so good and confident on the field though. Jackson won't stop complaining about it, which, by the way, is incredibly annoying" I sigh. "He's been practicing all summer, though. So, the work must have paid off" Stiles adds and I nod as he parks his car.

We both get out, walking up to the house. Music was blasting through speakers lined all over the mansion. "You want a drink?" Stiles calls over the music as I follow him through the crowds. "Uh, hell yeah" I nod and he smiles as we make it to the drinks. He pours me a glass and pours himself one too. We both talk for a little bit before another girl joins us. One I had recognized him talking to before, that one time when I saw him in the halls.

"Hey, I'll be back. I'm gonna get a refill. You want one?" I ask. "No, thanks" He tells me and I nod, leaving them to talk as I go to the drink table where I noticed Danny. He seemed to be talking to a guy. No, wait. It looked more like flirting. Interesting. I refill my drink as the guy walks off. Danny notices me and smiles. "Hey, Alex. I didn't think you wanted to come" He says.

"Eh, I decided to come anyways. Who was that?" I ask, motioning to the guy walking off. "Just some guy I was talking to" He shrugs, looking after him with a fond smile. I look between the two curiously. "You like him" I say as more of a statement than a question. "Pfft! What? I do not" He quickly denies, glancing over at the guy. "It's okay if you do, Danny. I won't judge" I tell him. "Maybe a little" He admits and I smirk.

"I knew it" I chuckle. "Okay, but you can't tell anyone else" He warns me. "You closeted?" I wonder. "Nah, I'm not a wimp hiding something like that. Everyone at the school knows actually" He shrugs. "Oh" I nod. "It's just, I am a wimp about people knowing about my crushes. And plus, I'm terrible at talking with really cute guys." He explains, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's all right. You've got a new friend who happens to be a great wing-woman" I smile confidently.
