"I heard Scott's not playing today" Danny comments as we practice lacrosse in my backyard. "Who said that?" I ask curiously. "Lydia" Danny shrugs. "Why not? He's the best chance we have at winning" I point out. "I'm not sure. You're pretty good though" Danny brings up. "I could be better, though" I shrug.

"Alex!" Allison walks out with a smile. "What's up?" I wonder, taking another shot which Danny blocks. "Have you figured out who you're going with tonight?" She wonders curiously. "Sure have. Danny set me up with a couple of people" I smile and Danny sends me a wink.

"Who?" She asks curiously. "Um, some kid on the lacrosse team. His name is Matt. And if that doesn't work out then I have someone else" I explain and Allison nods. I'm glad she didn't ask who that was either because I wasn't even sure if I liked girls or guys or both and I definitely was not gonna tell Allison about it.

"Anyways, why were you wondering?" I ask. "Lydia wanted me to ask" She shrugs. I had taken a shot as soon as she said that and it had gone wide, flying over the net as I turn to look at her in surprise. "Wh-why would Lydia want to know that?" I ask. Allison raises an eyebrow at me as I ignore the smirk Danny was sending my way.

"I'm not sure. But she also told me to pick out your outfit." Allison tells me. "What's with her and my clothing choices. I'm allowed to wear what I want" I complain. "She's got a point though" Allison shrugs and I roll my eyes. "Whatever" I wave it off. "I'll go pick out your outfit." She tells me, walking back inside. I let out a breath as I turn to look at Danny who was looking at me with his arms crossed, wearing a smug grin.

"Don't give me that look" I shake my head at him and he chuckles. "I was just thinking, you were doing fine until Lydia's name was brought up" Danny points out. "I was just caught off guard" I wave it off. "Sure" He trails off and I roll my eyes. "You didn't want to tell your sister about Taylor?" He asks. "Nah, I'm not even sure what I prefer yet. I don't want to give away anything to Allison" I shrug.

"Just know, whatever you choose, I'll be fine with it" He tells me. "So, you're telling me, if I told you I prefer girls, you wouldn't freak out and be excited?" I ask with a raised eyebrow. "I never said that. I just said, I'll be fine with your choice. It would be a win-win anyways. Either, we'd have something in common and both be gay, or we could talk about boys together" He shrugs. "True" I nod, taking another shot.

Danny and I had decided to practice together before the game just to get ready and then we were gonna ride to the game together. I felt pretty confident the team was gonna win. That is, if Scott decides to play. Apparently, Jackson was still gonna play as well. But, in my opinion, Scott was better than him so that's why it worried me that Scott wasn't planning on playing.

Once it gets closer to the game, Danny and I eat a quick snack, getting hyped for my first game at this school. We hear Allison's worried voice from outside, yelling at my Dad over something but ignore it. "Sweetheart, are you sure you don't want me to make you and your friend dinner before the game? A snack is not gonna hold you over" Mom worries.

"I'll be fine, Mom. I promise" I assure her. "If you say so" She sighs. Dad walks in the door with Allison. "Hi, Dad!" I greet, sending him a wave. Danny gives him a wave too. "Hey, Twinkle. Can't wait to see you play in your first lacrosse game" He smiles, kissing my forehead. "You're actually coming to this one?" I ask in surprise. "Sure am" He smiles. If you were wondering what Twinkle meant, he always called me that.

It was his nickname for me. He always commented about how my eyes twinkle, whether I'm excited, angry, or even bored. He turns to look at Danny. "I don't think we've met. Chris Argent" He sticks his hand out and Danny shakes it as Dad looks him over carefully. I roll my eyes at him. "Dad, don't worry. Danny's gay" I inform him. Dad seems to relax at that and Allison and I both roll our eyes again at his protectiveness.
